Poor staff and customer service. I was fasting and I ordered takeout and left. My bus was running late so I decided to break my fast at the restaurant instead. I noticed two tables were completely empty and asked the staff if they can make my takeout into an in dining instead. They refused. I left frustrated because I have only ever spoken so highly of this restaurant. I went to a neighbouring restaurant to sit and eat instead. While I was seated waiting to break my fast I decided to call them to let them know that it was very disappointing how they handled that especially since I have had ladies seat me inside even if I order from Uber.( They easily make accommodations for days/times that are not busy. ). When I googled their number I realized the store was 20 minutes from closing and they already had guests seated and my food was already ordered. In no way form whatsoever, was seating me for 20 minutes before store closing going to affect their business. Not only was the girl avoiding/dodging my request to speak to the manager she was also so inconsiderate in making any room to fix her mistake when she realized 15 minutes to seat a client inside was only going to correct her poor customer service....

Cozy Japanese restaurant. Located across from the Mount Pleasant GO station.

Never very crowded when I go, and food is always fresh. It's my "go-to" dinner place when the bus doesn't show up and I'm going to miss making dinner at home at a reasonable time.

FYI - $30 is enough to get at least a couple of decent items off the menu. $50 to $60 is enough to ensure a very, very, satisfying meal and some light leftovers for a snack the next day.

Just remember though... It's not AYCE, so you have to be a bit more precise in knowing what you're ordering since you won't be trying items randomly for a fixed price (as with AYCE)...

Overall, the team at the restaurant produces consistently good a la carte sushi/sashimi/maki, etc. and are super friendly. They seem to enjoy making the dishes and work well together - which is important.

I should mention that I've also ordered takeout/delivery from them, and they meet expectations - no problem. In fact, for delivery, they do an excellent job IMO of packaging up everything neatly and safely so it arrives in pristine condition.

Definitely will visit again. Hopefully, on a less cold day than...

I am deeply disappointed by the experience I had at this location. The restaurant floors were BLACK dirty, stained, and slippery — completely unacceptable for a relatively new establishment.

Customer service was equally poor. I ordered my meal, waited approximately ten minutes for it to be prepared, and then sat at a table to eat. To my surprise, I was told that I could not dine in because my order was considered “takeout” since I had already paid. This was shocking and unreasonable, especially given that the restaurant was completely empty.

Policies like this make absolutely no sense and reflect poorly on management. A paying customer should never be treated this way. The overall environment and attitude toward customers were disappointing and unprofessional.

Between the lack of cleanliness, poor service, and illogical “no dine-in after payment” rule, I will not be returning. I strongly discourage anyone seeking a pleasant dining experience from visiting Kibo Sushi House - At least...

Absolutely wouldn’t order again. I have tried other Kibo sushi restaurants and the mount pleasant is the one that will drag the name down. I ordered on Uber eats for 2 items. The tuna tartar and the squid karaage tempura. Both were underwhelming and disappointing. To start the squid was excessively greasy, cold and nothing at all like the image on uber. The tempura was already falling off the squid when it was delivered. It was burnt and overcooked felt like I was eating tires. Big pieces clumped together and then small little bits from the bottom of the fryer. The tuna tartar looks like it was fresh and the avocado was green. But there was no marinade or sauce to go with it other than packet soya sauce. No taro chips or anything to eat it with. Definitely needs some fine tuning. Overall highly disappointed after spending $40 for the 2 items and not even getting $15 worth of food or effort.

Disappointed. We ordered through online. I’ve had much better experiences with the food than this previously. I’m not sure if the owners changed or something but the food quality has gone downhill. The picture below was a $7 seaweed salad… unfortunate that is what you get for $7. The sushi was low tier. Not fresh and can definitely find better else where. We also ordered the honey garlic chicken karrage. It was honestly slimy, not a great texture. We also ordered Miso soup. It pretty much tasted like water. This restaurant used to be good. I’m hoping the quality gets better so I can come back one day.
