Santa Maria — Restaurant in Brampton

I called to order white pudding for my guest, I was told the sell white & black pudding. So just to be sure I asked the person on the phone what colour the pudding is , she said gray ....so I order two servings. I drove 25mins picked up my order which cost $28 only to open the bags and see black puddings...We don't use black pudding before of Religious reasons which I clearly confirm with the girl who took my order. What tips me off was when I called I was told that am speaking to the owners daughter and she can't take it back nor give a refund cause her father will contact me when he arrived...almost a week Gona be up soon an noone contacted me. She was rude and unprofessional, telling me she is sure her staff knows there products and I might me mistaken or didn't hear well and . Am Guyanese and not stupid to no know my culture food....I'm ordering from a girl who recently started there that's from India, yet I got no justice and I to throw it away...wasted my time money and gas ..... And was told no refund or exchange cause shs sure her staff explain right and I'm the one at fault.... No offense but as a businessman's daughter running her father's business,she has no customer service ability what so ever much less...

Decided to drop in late one afternoon to give them a try.

The staff and customers were all very welcoming and accommodating. So the general vibe was good.

I must have caught them at a bad time, b/c the place seemed generally in some disarray. As if there was a large event the night before and they hadn't gotten around to cleaning up yet.

They appear to have a strong group of regulars who congregate in their own sections.

Food was quite generous and tasty. The pepper/heat was just right for me (I was sweating by the end). I think priced about right. Not too high or low.

Service as I said was very nice, attentive but not overly so, and casual-informal. Relaxed atmosphere. The patio was spacious and shaded, and oddly overlooked by most guests.

Other than the general disarray, the regulars were fairly loud, lots of swearing, and colorful language. Jousting with words.

Maybe not the place you would want to take kids, or for a first date ... ; )

But it is what it is, and will not disappoint if you set your expectations. I'd go back...

I saw the reviews and ordered for delivery, special chicken fried rice, special chicken chowmein, black pudding and hot wings. It was the worst, the fried rice was stale and the chicken was hard. The chicken pieces was soo tiny the wings drumstick was bigger than the leg quarter drumstick. The portion of food is good but the chicken are very small. The chowmein was very wet in a some watery liquid and was very bland didn’t had any flavour. The black pudding was a very small portion (5-6 piece) for the price I was expecting more! The only good thing about my order was the wings, the wings was really good. I don’t think I would ever order back from...
