I ordered Rasmalai flavored Farm theme cake from the bakery. Cake was looking pretty. But the huge issue was quality of taste. Firstly, the customer service was worst. Customer service representative was way too rude and gave incomplete info. Please trained your representatives to give details properly before taking an order. She told us that internal layers of cake will be full rasmalai flavor. If you aren't making cake with full layers of ordered flavor then inform the customer prior to placing order. The icing layer inside was not fully ramalai flavor, instead they put thick plain layer of white icing tasting like a granulated sugar. I specifically mention while ordering online that sugar content must be lower as compared to regular cakes . If you cannot make it then why did you accept this customized order. I paid rush fee as well. If you don't have time to complete the ruch orders with the full quality please don't accept it. Overall my son's birthday as spoiled as nobody enjoyed the cake.
Edit #1 Thank you for your response and I was excepting such a defensive response after seeing other replies to the 1 star rating reviews. We like the design and I already mentioned this in my review. The issue was the quality of flavor we ordered. #1 Nobody insulted your representative, my wife was asking questions regarding the order, we were asking few things repeatedly just want to make sure everything goes well with our order. If asking questions means insulting your employees than please inform the customer first. #2 Regarding flavors, we haven't asked anything out of your list, we just asked that only two deluxe flavors are mentioned online and what we can do if we want flavor mentioned in your printed list (we did not get a satisfactory response). I am totally aware of the flavor of the cake I ordered, because I already tasted the same cake from your bakery and I really appreciated that flavor at that time. Also regarding the the sweetness of cake, your representative said we can alter that if we mention while ordering online and I did that. I didn't ask for recipe alterations, just the sugar content and I clearly know the desserts are ment to be sweet. If you had such policy that you cannot alter anything including sweetness level you should tell us first. #3 Regarding writing on the cake, when we asked your representative she told us cake would be as it is as designed in the picture shown online. Even then name was written with piping and not as described in picture, which was our concern. #4 Regarding rush fee I didn't have any issues paying that, I asked for fee wave because once on call representative told me that you charge rush fee if someone order before 48 hours. I came on Tuesday and delivery day was Thursday. I asked once so please dont put false claims that I asked repeatedly. If I am paying large amount for cake, $15 are nothing in front of it. #5 Regarding the behavior of my son, I apologize to your representative and if my son was issue you should tell us not to bring him next time. The big question is why there was a flavor of sugar grains in rasmalai cake (which wasn't in your regularrasmali cake) and name writting on the cake. If I am not wrong one of your other customers also has the same concern. Honestly I am not surprised that you go beyond personal while replying to me because you did same to others as well; I was mentally prepared for such a rude reply. Rather than discussing quality issues you are just diverting the topic to somewhere else. Definitely I'll take my business somewhere else who will try to listen the actual concern rather than blaming my son to satisfy their...
Read moreOne of my family members ordered a cake from this bakery. It was very poorly made and we were shocked. The red velvet sponge was so dry, didn’t taste or look like red velvet and you could feel sugar grains in the icing. What a disappointment as I was really excited to try this bakery out. Aesthetically, it looked good.
EDIT: I see your comment below. But if you CAN read, I said my FAMILY MEMBER ordered from you. I can’t believe you are so defensive that you can’t admit your baking mistakes. Our red velvet cake was TOMATO red. On your PERSONAL bakery website, you mentioned you give real cream cheese icing on your red velvet cake. Hun, we got grainy overly sweet buttercream. Please - even we know enough about baking to know your cake was disgusting. We threw it away. I was actually nicer in my review above but clearly your defensive attitude is disgusting. Not to mention you said you’d deliver when my family member inquired and cancelled last minute.
EDIT#2: I posted my original review because I wanted to let other customers know about my experience. That is the WHOLE point of reviewing a business on Google. If you’re so sensitive about negative reviews like seen in your previous posts, take your business off Google and social media. I guess you didn’t realize that not everyone is going to like your cakes and your customer service. The customer service you’re showing is disgusting. You clearly cannot take constructive criticism - that’s why you replied so rudely to my first review. Giving us a red velvet cake (that did not look or taste like red velvet) without cream cheese frosting with the price you charged is ridiculous. You clearly don’t think you can make mistakes and only respond defensively to anyone saying remotely anything negative about your business as seen in other reviews. Take care and hopefully in the future, when you make a mistake, you will realize that negative reviews are inevitable and can learn to take them in a positive manner unlike the disgusting defensive behaviour you’re showing.
Edit 3: I originally wrote a lengthy response to your response below but in all honesty, I don’t think you have an open mindset to even understand how you reacted was wrong and uncalled for. Your internal discourse is set in stone that I am a disgusting person with no character because I shared my honest opinion. At the end of the day, I wasn’t attacking you. You resorted to attack me calling me a fake reviewer and proceeded to put my family’s personal matters out on the internet which we did NOT consent to. The lack of professionalism is real. That speaks volumes and I don’t need to write a lengthy response to prove anything to you or any of your current or future customers. Your reaction is enough and says a lot about yourself and your business. I hope you find peace in knowing you’re not the cake boss...
Read moreI don't usually like to post negative reviews, because I geniunly have good intentions of supporting local businesses. However, I needed to express my unfair experience with SK Confectionery:
I ordered a cake for my partners 30th birthday, and I was in continuous contact with who I would assume to be the owner, in regards to the design of my cake. I wanted a print out of a specific image that I had sent. It had its own writing and font, and I had asked if I could include my partners name in the image and she said yes (again I wanted to clarify this because I assumed it will be a print out image and it would be difficult to add on to it). I also have the messages on Whatsapp confirming all our messages. When I picked up the cake, she showed me the cake. But I did not realize until I got into my car that the cake did not have the name included at all! I went back to see the reason why the name was not included and she had mentioned it was because it was a print out image as we discussed, but then I replied that she had expressed it would have been done. She was rude, and defensive and did not take accountability at all. In addition to this, she had initially given me the cake without mentioning the name at all which gave me the impression she knew it was not included. I do not understand how you can make a cake without including the persons name? In result, she did add the name but she put it on separately, which looked out of place on the cake and to me, it was ruined as it did not fit my vision whatsoever. I was also dealing with another gentleman which was relaying my frustration to the woman and he seemed much more apologetic and empathetic compared to the woman I was dealing with. It was clear there was a miscommunication, which can be forgiven. However, she dealt with this matter unprofessionally, and her defensive demeanor and attitude only irritated me further. The cake for the record was somewhat tasteful, as it was red velvet. Although I did find the cream overbearing and it took over most of the cake. I do not see myself giving business to SK Confectionery again, and I hope they learn how to conduct business more appropriately and treat their customers with a little more respect...
