I've been coming here for the past 7 months as I moved into the neighbourhood, and thus made this my local Starbucks. I originally gave it 3 stars, but since then I have seen this store slowly get worse.
The last three times visiting this location has resulted in incorrect drinks and below standard customer service levels (by Starbucks standards). The cashier partner is usually always very engaging and friendly, but the bar partners always tend to be very serious and robotic. It makes it an extreme challenge to tell them that the drink they made was incorrect. I don't think I even got an apology two out of the last three times. I understand that when it gets busy, the bar partner needs to concentrate on making drinks quickly, but it would be nice if they at least made eye contact when handing off drinks.
As for the drinks, I usually order is a Grande, 4 shot, Americano with room.
Once there wasn't any room, which diluted the drink. They offered to pour some out and add another shot, but it would have just been nice to get the drink that I ordered and that 99% of other Starbucks stores make without issue.
Another time the shots were very weak so I asked for a remake, and watched the remake. The espresso shots pulled probably for the correct time of 18-22 seconds, but the volume of liquid that the machine pulled for a double shot was probably only 1 ounce (should have been 2 ounces). I asked them to call it in for maintenance and they said they would. They proceeded to make my drink with 8 shots to compensate for the machine malfunction.
The last time I used a reward for a Grande, 4 shot, Lactose Free, no whip, White Mocha. The cup was marked incorrectly as a Grande, Lactose Free, no whip, White Mocha. It was missing two shots of espresso and had an extra pump of white mocha making it too weak and too sweet.
I sent my comments to Starbucks head office, and the assured me that they would be sharing the feedback with the store manager. I'm very interested to see if things change. However, I believe that the quality of store managers in the past few years has declined. I further believe this to be because Starbucks is asking store managers to do more every year in the same amount of time, and it's getting a bit ridiculous at this point. And because of that, a lot of store managers are walking away, and high performing baristas are also walking away from the job because good workers don't want to work with below average store managers. Good workers want to work with other good workers.
Sorry for the long review. I usually only write a 1-2 line review, but I really wanted to share my experience with the store, Starbucks, and the...
Read moreI’ve had the distinct pleasure of visiting this location multiple times lately, and I can confidently say it’s a truly unique experience every time. The staff here seem to have mastered the art of being both stingy and surly—a combination that’s honestly impressive. It’s almost as if they pride themselves on making the simplest of tasks feel like a monumental effort. Perhaps the most baffling part is how consistently incorrect my mobile orders are. I mean, it’s right there on the sticker—literally written out—yet every visit seems to bring a fresh batch of mistakes. How can one mess up an order when the details are in black and white right in front of you? It’s almost as if they choose to ignore it. And don’t get me started on the wait times; the line is perpetually ridiculously long, which I suppose is a good thing for them—more time for staff to show off their unmatched ability to ignore customer requests and create a sense of chaos rather than efficiency. I’ve always found it rather interesting how a place that prides itself on being a "coffee haven" can’t even get the basics right. The vibe here is less “warm and inviting” and more “rushed and bothered." The baristas, clearly overwhelmed (or perhaps just uninterested), deliver a service that’s more about their convenience than customer satisfaction. All in all, I’m not sure what’s more surprising: the constant mistakes, the indifferent attitudes, or the fact that I still seem to return, hoping for a better experience. But hey, it’s Starbucks, right? Expectations are...
Read moreNot sure what happened in the past few weeks but quality of drinks has massively declined. I’ve been getting the same 2-3 drinks for the past couple years but the past 3 times I’ve gone there’s been something wrong with my coffee. First time was an iced shaken espresso which I’ve gotten tons of times and was 99% cream, my drink was nearly white. Second time was the same drink except half empty and not enough cream (I’ve ordered venti iced shaken espresso so many times without modifications but these past two times have been vastly different from normal). Since I can’t rely on the shaken espresso anymore, last time I just got a simple iced coffee with milk and classic syrup but it just tasted watered down and gross. Mind you, I always order from the app and never complain or ask them to remake it because I don’t want to seem like a Karen. I’m not sure what’s happened here in these past 3 weeks but I won’t be going here anymore just because it’s too expensive to risk getting...
