I would highly caution anyone who visits this restaurant. We went as a friend group and was extremely disappointed at the service. Here's the full story: We were waiting for 15 min and kept asking if we could order. Other servers kept saying yes, we will send your server. 30 min later ourserver showed up to take our order. One of our friend was vegan and asked if there was anything they could recommend, and to that server's recommendation was 'paneer gravy'. Since, when is Paneer vegan? Fine, we were like don't worry about it we will check each section to find something for him (he ordered vegan manchurian and chowmein) . Then rest of us ordered a pitcher of beer, fish pakora and some meat curry and naan. We waited another 30 min to get our food. They brought in the main dishes. No beer, or fish pakora yet. We tried to ask whoever brought the food and they told us "I don't take your food orders. I'll let your server know to come to your table". So we just decided to dig into main because it will get cold. Server showed up another 20-25 min later when our meal is more than half done with pitcher of beer, but no glasses. Glasses took another 10 min. At this point we really wanted to cancel the beer and fish pakora, but since beer was already poured we decided not to bother her and only cancel fish pakora. When we told her we want to cancel the fish pakora, she replied saying we never ordered it. At this point we were getting bit annoyed. The first items we ordered was beer and fish pakora. The vegan manchurian was so spicy that it wasn't edible at all, so we politely asked if they can remake it and thankfully they said okay. It took them another 30 min to bring that. Anyways, we just wanted to finish up and uasked for the cheque to be splited in to two -- veg and non-veg. The waiter replied, "no, I'll only split it in 2 equals". We were suddenly dumbfounded to her reaction. She then explained, " i already put in the order like that, so i can't split now." We just wanted to leave so at this point we said 1 bill is fine, just give the reciept so we can split ourselves. She brought the reciept and as one of us was paying another one was checking the bill to see who paid what. Then we noticed there's a $29.99 charge for an 'open item'. We asked the waitress if that's the beer and she conformed. Then we said the beer was supposed to be $19.99 as per their menu. We opened the menu again and showed her. Then she went back inside with the reciept to talk to management, came back and told us, the price changed that's the new price. At this point we really lost it. Told them they can't legally charge us more than what the menu says. We demanded they fix it and give us our refund for the difference. She kept arguing back saying she can't. We told her to give our reciept back so we can complain to city. Then she went and gave us the cash back (not including the tax). We were so frustrated by this experience, we just took the change got up amd left. Food wasn't bad, but I wouldn't come back for this kind of frustrating experience. Waitress that served us was all over the place. Couldnt call her. Food wasn't being served on time , order wasn't taken down properly, it was horrible. Please make sure to check the bill and menu price. Make sure you are being charged correct amount. This really was one of the worst...
Read moreI went to Tandoori Haveli and ordered a Vegetarian Thali. I was given Chicken instead of paneer.
Feeling nauseous and sick. Feel like throwing up and stomach hurts in between.
Mentally feeling distressed. My whole life being a vegetarian and respecting that choice whenever I go out to eat, all of a sudden has changed. I feel at shock. I have a loss of appetite and the feeling of the food stuck in my teeth makes me more nauseous and physically and mentally ill.
When you order something, you expect it to be that. Chicken and Paneer have a similar texture and look and while it was submerged in the curry, its hard to notice it. I kept eating it but started to notice how it was harder to chew. Thats when I also sent a picture to my fiancee and she confirmed it was chicken. I initially felt sick to my stomach. I hate knowing that a what was once a living being is inside me now and the thought of it makes me not want to eat anymore.
The waiter kept saying she can give me another thali as if I have an appetite to keep eating after what just happened. She also told me I should not leave a review worried about their reputation but failing to see how severe of an issue this is for me.
I messaged and told all my friends and family and they asked me to report this. I also will be going to a walk in clinic as I dont feel good.
This is a severe case for me not just because its a dietary restriction but also a religious one. I have never eaten meat willingly and would have never either until today’s incident.
I am also baffled at how lightly the staff were taking this and told me the manager would call me back. I waited 45minutes and I am still waiting as I write this review. The wait is making it worse and I am starting to feel even worse than before. I told my fiancee I am going to try going to a walk in clinic if...
