Turtle Jack's Brampton (Airport) — Restaurant in Brampton

For some context(Sorry for the long post), I have been going to this place for 10+ years with my wife. We live about 10 minute walk away at a near by residential area. We have had amazing customer experiences with previous employees. Unfortunately, all of them do not work there anymore. We visited the restaurant on August 20th, 2022. We were greeted and seated in the bar area, which was nice. We received our drinks, and app quickly, which was great. Within ten minutes we began to notice a lot of fruit flies, and larger flies in the area we were seated. We decided to move, and informed the service. At the time there was only 2 other customers in the bar area, so it was not an issue. We moved to the new area, and noticed the fruit flies were an issue throughout the restaurant. We made the most of it and enjoyed our drinks, and our app while swatting flies away throughout the night. We payed the bill and tipped the typical 25+% strictly because of the service and experience during our previous visits. I spoke with our server and inquired about the situation with the flies. I felt the explanation was dismissive. During the conversation I told the server that it was okay that I could come back the next day to speak with the manager about the flies (I did not want the server to feel the drinks was causing any judgment issues). Immediately her response was 'You are being very hostile and the manager can speak to you now'. When she walked away I was in absolute disbelief that I had to ask my wife if what she said was true, and if I was being hostile. My tone was with absolute respect and understanding. The manager arrived and portrayed kindness, and understanding, yet defended his employee to some extent, which I respected. He took full responsibility, but I felt also dismissed my concerns about the flies, and somewhat blamed our drinks for attracting the flies. He also recognized me since I come to the restaurant often, but the feedback I was giving meant nothing to him. Again, this is just what I felt in the discussion with him. This all sucks to be honest. I really loved that place for a long time, but I will not be going back there because of this. All the best to them in the future.-...

Arrived at 10pm on a Friday night for dinner with a total of 4 guests in our party. We were seated quickly but it took about 15 minutes for our server to make his way to our table. The dining side was pretty empty but our servers claim for taking so long was that he was the only one working on this side. Understandable, but I mean shouldn’t a big chain restaurant have more than 1 server working on a Friday night?? There was no drink menu at our table so I had to google their website to see their drink specials. $5 beers/mixed drinks after 9pm and half price appetizers was largely advertised which sounded great so we built our order around that. When our server came back to take our order he said they don’t do those specials at this location because they get a lot of business so they don’t need to have promotions like that. That was pretty disappointing so we had to take more time to figure out what our order would be. Once we finally ordered our food it took 1 hour before it was actually ready and served to us. Pretty slow service considering the restaurant was not that full. The food was pretty good which is why I’m leaving a 2 star review. I ordered the big wing sandwich which is always my favorite to order here with a side of their garlic Caesar salad. The last thing that left a negative impression on me was the lack of attention from our server. Halfway through our meal we pretty much all needed refills for our drinks but our server Chris was nowhere to be found. We finished and were left sitting there for about 10 minutes before I finally saw him and waved him over to get the bill. He said no problem and then asked if we wanted refills. Great timing considering we were already done and ready to leave. Never been to a restaurant where at least halfway through the meal the server comes and checks up on you. Granted he did say he was the only one working but I would then blame management for not scheduling enough staff to work on a Friday night. I will most likely visit tj’s again but probably try to avoid this location if I can. If not hopefully there is enough staff next time so we can get...

The food was perfect, the service was exceptional, the atmosphere was welcoming. What more could you ask for for a family gathering of a dozen people. The food was priced accordingly by today's standard and the best thing out of all of it was the service we were given by Lisa our server! She didn't miss a beat. Glasses were always full, food was brought out simultaneously and piping hot! She made an honest and perfect meal suggestion for me that I'm so grateful for. She always had a smile on and was extremely professional. We had our mom's who are seniors with us and always made them the top priority! Thank you Turtle Jack's and especially Lisa for being a part of this special family memory!

Update September 5, 2025: Came back for a special dinner... Airport Road Location. What a great experience! I brought my my wife, son, and my sister, who is from the Ottawa area, for a family dinner. It was my sister's first time to a Turtle Jack's. Justine was our server, who we noticed was tasked with serving a large group of 16 who was just seated before us. We were greeted and seated and brought our drinks in a timely fashion. Justine brought a big enthusiastic smile and energy to her section for our whole visit. Our drinks were refilled without delay often, and our starter was brought out in a timely manner. Despite serving a full section, Justine didn't skip a beat. Our meals were cooked to perfection, bursting with flavor. Full props to the chefs in the kitchen for our wonderful entrées. Our desserts were delicious with not a morsel left behind. The only criticism for our visit was from my sister. There isn't a Turtle Jack's in the Ottawa area, so she'll have to visit her little brother again and to try more on the menu !
