Proof that Brandon hates coffee. I spent my afternoon today trying to find a coffee shop in Brandon that wasn't an epic failure. This place was one more disappointment. The location is great but is being wasted on a disjointed business model. The place is a bakery, restaurant, coffee shop and fails at all three. Their selection of baked goods, for a bakery, is limited and weird. To be fair, the presentation is good. No plastic wrap and no added 7-11 type items. For a restaurant... the place can't decide what it is. It doesn't have the ambiance it needs to pull off the restaurant feel. The big fail is on the cafe side. First red flag: No 16oz cups, only 12oz. I almost cancelled my order when a rather ashamed counter staff member told me they only have 12oz cups. To be fair, they have no problem charging 16oz prices. I had a cookie that was dry and uninspiring. It instantly reminded me of a Nabisco 'Chips-ahoy', cookie. The disappointment of the cookie did not match the entirely acceptable presentation in the display case. I also had a pretzel. It wasn't... bad per se. Wasn't great either. The coffee in this place was clearly a lost argument among business partners. They compromised on cheap with a blatant disregard for any potential cultured pallate who my get drawn into the store by falsely high ratings. The coffee was so burnt at sour tasting... like a low end Ethiopian Sidamo that has been in the roasting kettle too long. I had to dump it out. Brandon, you may not deserve a better coffee shop in this town but you can certainly do better. Do do it for yourselves. Do it for...
Read more1st of all it was a birthday cake any bakery in worlds would have written happy birthday on cake if they knew in my case they knew it’s a birthday cake.
2nd I entered store there was this one lady on phone taking orders and the other one came to me to ask about my order but she wasn’t even ready to listen what my was how I placed my order anything she went in 3 times and came to ask me about my order still didn’t want to listen the whole thing.
3rd the lady who was on phone I asked why there’s nothing written on the cake. But it’s a common sense that if you guys know it’s a birthday cake you write happy birthday or what so ever occasion it is.
4th for that happy birthday thing on the cake you guys see down below she charged me extra for that 4$ with tax. I asked her to write it she’s like we don’t do it and asked the other girl to bring me these thing and put it on the cake.
All over my cake was almost 70$ for just simple one. Not going back again here. Not to forget the cake tasted good but services, price and the staff. Not good.
Imagine if I would have specifically mention in their email that I need happy birthday written will they charge extra.? So, why for that lil piece u charged me. I better have gone...
Read moreI previously left a 3 star review but took it down after the owner humiliated me for trying to leave a fair and honest review to help others in their decision making. But as you may see, anytime someone doesn't give a 5 star review to Chez Angela the owner comes on and makes sure you know why you're "wrong". They say they need their customers to tell them how they can improve, but when we say the coffees not great, the service is subpar, the selection is not impressive, and the experience just didn't live up to all their social media hype, they explain why we're not giving them a fair or truthful review. If it's a common theme that people are disappointed in what their business promises, then maybe it's time they change where they source their products or reevaluate things. I tried to stay quiet and move on but to read that they literally told a disappointed customer that they did not in fact experience racism, well I'm sorry but that offends me. If they truly want a great business then maybe they shouldn't make an enemy of their customers with passive aggressive review replies. But if it's just reputation they're after, then carry on. The one star updated review is for...
