Well now, let me spin you a tale 'bout this here neighborhood haunt, a joint so cozy and worn it could tell a thousand stories if them walls could talk. This place, it's like a patchwork quilt of souls, a warm refuge for the lost and found, where the piano's got more scars than a barroom brawler.
You step on in, and the air hangs heavy with the scent of seasoned wood and memories soaked in whiskey. The bartender, an old salt with a face like a map of life's winding roads, slides you a glass without needing a word. No fancy mixology, just a pour that's poured with history and the kind of wisdom you can only gather by watchin' the world from behind that ancient counter.
The regulars, they're like a motley crew of characters plucked straight from the pages of a noir novel. There's Old Jack, with a gravelly voice and tales that could fill volumes, and Ruby, a dame who's seen more than her fair share of heartache but still wears a smile that could light up the darkest alley. And then there's Crazy Lou, a wild-eyed poet who spouts verses that sound like they were written by a man who's danced with the devil.
And oh, the stories that are traded 'round this bar! Love lost and found, dreams chased and shattered, all shared with a whiskey-fueled honesty that cuts through the pretense like a switchblade through silk. You'll hear tales that'll make your heart ache and your gut laugh, all within the span of a single round.
So if you find yourself wanderin' down that dusty road, look for the flickerin' neon sign and the sound of piano notes driftin' through the air. Walk on in, pull up a stool, and let the stories and spirits flow. This neighborhood bar, it's a haven for the bruised, the hopeful, and the weary, a place where time stands still and life's melodies find their voice in the clinking of glasses and the hum...
Read moreThe Birria Burger was a tasty, creative spin on the popular tacos! Although the side of Coconut Onion Rings were adequate, I expected a larger portion given the price. The Half Chipotle Caesar Salad was a good size to split between two people for another side; it came with lots of real bacon chunks and shaved parmesan cheese (as well as the delicious smoky dressing and house made croutons).
UPDATE: I'm changing my rating from 4 to 5 stars! Yesterday, we dined-in to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and had a lovely evening on the patio. The service was attentive and friendly throughout our visit. We ordered the Smokehouse Cheese dish for an appetizer and, as the name suggests, there was a deliciously strong smoky flavour to the cream cheese. I'm happy that I got to try it before their Summer Menu is discontinued this week. I ordered the Braised Beef Dip for my entrée and, to be honest, I asked for a side of extra horseradish aioli because I didn't think there'd be enough of it and the sandwich would be dry (as is sometimes the case at other restaurants). I was very wrong, as the meat was tender and flavourful. The focaccia tasted freshly made and was the perfect vessel to soak up the au jus. Our only disappointment was that they were out of Beer Battered Fries, but we'll just have to get them when we go back for Wednesday wings! Oh, and for a drink, I'd recommend the White Sangria because the strawberry puree in it added the perfect amount...
Read moreI cannot really rate on atmosphere as I did not eat in the restaurant. I was at section 6 which has their menu on each table and you have to order through the brewery. The food was horrible. We waited over an hour for our food. I know we were not priority as we were not in the restaurant but if you are taking my money as a take out order I think you should treat me as a paying customer. We finally had the brewery call the dock to see if our food was coming. Within minute our food was there. Cold and terrible. I will never be back. Love the dock as a customer when I'm in the restaurant so disappointing when they know I've paid for my food and can't complain to the brewery. If I had more time I would have walked over and said something to the management. If you want your menu displayed on a table treat the customer with a bit of respect . We all work hard for our money. I would have had no problem walking over and picking up my food 30 minutes earlier when it was ready. Places get busy and staff is hard to come by but if you don't have the staff to manage don't put it a service you really can't provide. Look up all my reviews I don't just put the bad places up I love writing a good review 😌. I have been a business owner for...
