I went on route to my morning exercise. As soon as I walked in I had the distinct impression I wasn’t the type of person they wanted in their cafe.The woman who was working cash didn’t seem to like how I looked. Maybe it was an off day for her. The gentleman and the older woman who were making the drinks were kind enough. I ordered an iced latte, which is basically an ice coffee with half/third ice, half espresso, total was $6.50. Was the size of a med/large mcds iced coffee. The reason I say I didn’t feel welcome is as I was leaving, I heard the barista say to her coworker “did you see what she was wearing?” I’m going to give you a tip I hope serves you well in your employment; I won’t even go into the moral implications of judging a woman based on what she’s wearing (it was yoga pants and a T-shirt for the record, I was a bit sweaty…I was exercising): if you’re going to discuss the physical appearance of customers could you please wait until we are out of earshot? As a courtesy for the fact I spent $6.50 on what mcds can give me for $1 and because I have to exercise for my health and I know it’s unsightly; rest assured I absolutely hate doing it. Also, if you didn’t like how I looked to the point you felt it necessary to talk about me, say it before I give you my money so I can just walk out and go somewhere else. I would never in four lifetimes, ever go back to this coffee place. If you feel you’re morally superior to your customer base but also don’t have any problem taking money from the people you think are below you, the problem is you. I expect this type of snobbery in Paris, where I grew up, but not in Brantford. To local Brandfordites, save your $ and go anywhere else. We are suffering under a cost-of-living crisis and your money will be better spent (and go much further) at a more...
Read moreThe moments we spend at local establishments like Altitude Coffee Roasters makes a huge impact on our days and in our reflection of moments at the end of the day too...
I feel that the level of service, quality and gratitude I get served every time I visit Altitude is always 10/10!
And... it's not just the aftermath of their unbelievably yummy Flat White's that I'm addicted to... it's a little more than that for me;
It's the energy, warm & welcoming atmosphere, and just the right amount of uniqueness matched with superior quality of coffee options, pastries & treats that just does it for me.
I love the coziness (in Dutch it's called Gezellig) and the wonderful smiles, the energy/vibe paired with really, really GREAT coffee that tastes perfect every.single.time.
Other establishments? You're just a number on a computer screen waiting to get your fix.. but here? You're someone they appreciate, and their craft is unmatched.
Visiting Brant County? Need a great cup of coffee that tastes heavenly? Heading out to a baseball game and need some energy? Date? Day out? Evening sip? Whatever the reason, Altitude should be your choice!!
Thanks guys, you are making amazing coffee, and even better moments for your patrons and you are appreciated!

Read moreEditing because I seriously cannot say enough good things about this place. I live near downtown Oakville, a spot FILLED with cafes, and I drive an hour out to Brantford to come here. Just truly an insanely good menu and coffee, never had anything I didn’t like here. Also, no unpleasant experiences, which happen a lot at cafes to be honest haha. Just so so good. In fact, they should consider expanding, I honestly think they’d do amazing in a downtown area like Oakville!!!
Their PB&J iced latte is phenomenal! One of my favourite flavoured lattes I’ve ever tried (and yes I’ve tried a lot) They somehow manage to perfectly get the flavour of both pb & yummy strawberry jam without making it too sweet which is very impressive.
I’d also like to point out how grateful I am that they have skim and 2% milk available. I’m probably alone on this, but I find whole milk too thick and hate non dairy milks and that’s typically all coffee shops have nowadays which is so odd to me, so I’m truly grateful for this specifically!
This coffee shop is truly a gem. Brantford is lucky to...
