I came in to pick up a snack, a side of the delicious, sweet potato wedges, which are an add-on for some meals and an ingredient in other items. I’ve had them as a side before, and know that they exist (unless they are sold out). I waited for a few minutes, and the person behind the counter saw that I was there, didn’t acknowledge me, or say anything, not even hold on a second we’re busy. The restaurant was not packed, but nevertheless, I waited. It looked like they were in a very bad mood, and after a few minutes, I politely said hi, with a smile on my face. They rolled their eyes and put down what was in their hand and in what could be described as an“I’m over it” voice said “what can I get you?” I asked if they were OK. And they just repeated “what can I get you”. I was wondering if something was wrong because this person was clearly very upset/angry or maybe stressed. They called someone from the back to come and help, after telling me they don’t do that order. and they said “we don’t do that. We do Bowles and things”. The person who came up to help me said the same thing, but that it was an add-on and I said that was fine, no problem. Neither asked if I wanted anything else, but acted like the request was ridiculous and annoying; the hostile/unpleasant vibe made me opt to forget ordering it all and just leave. I’ve worked in the service industry and, of course we all have bad days, but when I encounter experiences like this it brings to mind: customers aren’t interrupting your job, they are your job. I wasn’t rude or impatient. I checked to see how the staff were doing because it seemed like something was off. I don’t go to a restaurant to be...
Read moreThis is my go to healthy food spot, but the last few months have been disappointing. I know avocado turns brown rather quickly once cut but the quac and dip I got last week was so off putting it was brown mush with mostly tomatoes. I’ve never experienced this before and have ordered many times and its usually great
My main issue is with one of the employees and how they handle food, I was in two different times and noticed very unhygienic practices by this one employee (yes I came back after this first time because I thought I would give them another shot and it’s hard to find healthy spots in brantford)
First experience was this employee grabbing change from the tip jar to make change and then going directly back to the kitchen to prep food, I could see them clearly the whole time.
Second experience, same employee wiped her nose right in the middle of making food. I’m sorry but that is not only gross but unacceptable.
If she can do those things with me standing right there it makes me wonder what practices she does where customers can’t view?
I don’t mind paying higher price for fresh healthy food but I feel it’s gone down hill a bit in terms of quality, quantity, customer service, and safe food handling should be automatic. I don’t like leaving negative reviews and I really hope things turn around because I did really...
Read moreI had a really off-putting experience tonight.
I decided to order a burrito for my lunch break - so I had called in a pickup order an hour before closing. They were out of rice for my burrito - which normally wouldn't be an issue - but instead of calling me back they waited until I got there (40 minutes later) to tell me. I didn't have time to wait for them to make my order (it's why I called and pre-ordered it) and especially not for something I didn't really want because they'd have to swap the rice for something different.
The woman who served me was rude, just straight up rude. She misunderstood my question (How long would the wrap take to make) and thought I said "How long would it take to make more rice" and snapped at me and said "We're closing. We aren't making anymore rice." I corrected the confusion and she was still rude. Totally unwarranted.
I feel like if they had 40 minutes to prepare my order, that would have been more than enough time to make the rice anyways, but the substitution wasn't really the issue, it was how I was treated.
I totally felt like I was a burden and unwelcome in this business, which is a shame because their food is...
