We have been going to angels diner for the past 20 years ever since I was a little kid. We have recommended angels to many many people over the years. Maria the owner is wonderful and we have always enjoyed our meals and service there. I’m saddened to say this may be the last day we go there. The service was absolutely terrible. When we arrived we were at the food for a good 15min before someone noticed. When we sat down I kindly asked if I could have a lemon slice for my water like I usually do and our server rudely said “no” and left. When she came back I asked do you have a slice of lime maybe? And she said “no, they only buy enough limes and lemons for the food”. I didn’t realize a slice would influence your meals that much and that’s fine maybe they changed the rules ...but please don’t ever use a tone that makes your customer feel bad for asking a simple question. Time to pay the bill...we sat there for 20 min with our masks on, waiting. We finally got a hold of our waitress and politely asked for the machine so we could pay because we were in a bit of a hurry, she said okay but she went off to clean tables then to seat a family. By that time we had already been sitting there for so long it was getting ridiculous. As soon as we saw her going inside and bringing food out to other tables my spouse just got up and asked the other waitress if we could pay with her instead. Thank you Angel’s for all of the memories and years there as a family but I don’t want to pay for a meal in a place that doesn’t make me feel welcomed. Unfortunately your employees are a representation of you as a company. I’m only giving 2 stars because the food is still decent but you really need to work on your...

We got seated, and no one came to take our order. A girl eventually said she spotted us and that no one marked down our table.
Our orders were taken and the fruit salad was moldy. It took 15 minutes for me to flag down the waitress and she grabs the fruit out of the bowl with her hands and spins it around as if she didn’t believe there was mold. She offers a new salad and I told her it’s fine I’m turned off of the fruit. She then proceeded to say that it happens sometimes. I asked for more syrup for my husbands pancakes because we only got a small pack that didn’t cover both pancakes. She agrees. Returns 15 minutes later long after the pancakes are gone.
Water was empty more than half our stay and no one checked on us or offered to top up. There were no waitresses around to even flag down. Our whole section was empty except for us and the place was not packed.
We ask for the bill and had to wait another 10 minutes. She drops the bill off then says there’s no machines. So we waited another 10 minutes. It was only after a different waitress spotted us that we got service.
When paying the waitress starts making excuses (even though we didn’t complain but she clearly is aware we were neglected) about how we were sat in her area but then her area was moved. No apology. Just her excuses.
So unprofessional. If you see the older lady with long brown hair in a pony tail, I recommend you ask for a different, more attentive and professional server.
Food...
Read moreThe food portions are the biggest I have had anywhere. I have never had room for desert after finishing my meal here. As amazing as this place is I do have to give it fewer stars to unprofessionalism in the work place and shaming an innocent customer. There was a visit where our food hadn't arrived yet, so I was watching orders being delivered as I have only had 1 thing there and wondered what dishes were popular/looked good. One of the servers who kept bringing out meals caught onto this and started hiding them with her hand and winking at me - which became a bit of a funny joke. Then came the clincher, she came out with a piece of cake that looked delicious, and my eyes/head were following her when some older ladies face popped into view and started shaming me claiming that I was checking out her 13 year old daughters, and the server on her way back, joined in with doubts to my defence when she had seen me watching her scurry food acrossed the restaurant for the last 30 minutes. And if this shameful man hating woman reads reviews; what you didn't let me say is; honey I wasn't even looking at your 13 year old daughters until you made them my focus, and even then I wasn't interested. I like men. And if you don't want actual pervy men checking them out, make sure their attire is a bit more appropriate, the skimpy stuff they are in is why you "always" catch straight men...
