This is just a rant about Yong Great Wall take out delivery and a question. I realize everyone has different experiences but this is mine today. I ordered Delivery for the first time with my husband from there (we have been to the buffet a couple times). Our order was a little over $20 which makes it free delivery. Gave my full address and phone number and she even double checked it with me on the phone. About an hour after ordering, no delivery yet. So I gave a call back and just asked what time around it would be here or of there was any issues. She yelled at me claiming it would be 5 more minutes. I said okay and 45 mins after that call my husband called back this timeand put it on speaker. She said our address didn't exist. We confirmed and they had the proper one. So we were confused? Then she said we called your cellphone and you didnt answer you must not want it? I jumped in and said what number do you have written? She said the same one I have, then told me she now tried calling 3 times. Then she told me she could resend it. So I said it would be cold by now and would they still charge us the same price or is there a discount for almost waiting 2 hours? She said no discount. So we asked to speak to manager. I thought I would be able to have a nice conversation with the manager without him yelling, but nope. He told me over and over my address was wrong and how it doesnt exist and that his girls dont make mistakes etc. I understand if my address was harder to find, but I live here...it exists. He claimed he would resend me the food and I would have to pay the fullprice PLUS delivery now. What?? How did I end up having to pay more now? Then he said he would give me the delivery free but not food. I said I wasnt paying for delivery anyways. He was degrading to speak to, not nice at all. I appreaciate how he stands up for his staff, but I was not at fault here. I said this was not good management and he said I was not a good person. He went on and on being very rude to the point, I just said no thank you I am done here and hung up.
Please dont be disrespectful to the people who pay for your food. Also to the people who are nice and treat you with respect like I did. I understand if I had been a terrible person, but I was calm and understanding even to...
Read moreBest value all you can eat buffet anywhere. My family has eaten here likely 80-100 times in the last 12 or so years, since whenever they opened. The quality has been consistent since day 1. Roast beef, carve it yourself. It has a delicious peppery crust and rests in au jus-ish liquid, beside gravy and horse radish. Add mash potatoes and several vegetable options and you already have a meal worth substantially more that the dinner buffet price alone. But you're only getting started! Torpedo shrimp, delicious, also to compliment grab a small dish and load up some seafood sauce from the table that has the half shell oysters, in shell shrimp and sushi.
Breaded chicken pieces, add gravy and crushed almonds to make your Almond Soo Guy to your liking.
Chicken wings, unlimited chicken wings! Take them soaked in a tangy in house bbq style sauce or just nice a d crispy breaded and add a sauce to your liking from the drippings and juices to be found in the other food containers (eg. lemon chicken sauce, gravy, siracha, etc). ALSO, blue cheese dressing from the salad bar!
Salad bar is excellent with a crab seafood salad, seaweed salad, broccoli salad as well as several other prepared ones, or grab the lettuce and pick the toppings of choice and the salad dressing you like.
Dessert bar, ice cream and cakes/cookies bar, a waffle station with the works, soup station with 3 types of soup, also CHEAP drinks! Can't buy beer anywhere cheaper, pretty much the same price as the beer store!
Gone so many times, to keep it fun we challenge ourselves to create 'alternative' menu choice. For example, we make a 'burger' Arby's style - shave the roast beef, take two dinner rolls and butterflying them to create two halves of a larger bun, then creating our own horsey sauce and bbq sauce and shredded cheese from the salad bar.
Another favorite creation: young wall Sheppard's pie! Mashed potatoes and then layer in the meats and veggies you want!
And then there is the staff, we have a 12 year old, he was brought in as a baby and the staff (which they are all still there!!) would carry him around, now a young man he is greeted so affectionately by them still and we always feel well taken care of by everyone, owners,...

The staff were unfriendly. We arrived at 3:30 PM and noticed that dinner service started at 4 PM. Before beginning our meal, we confirmed with the front desk that we still qualified for the lunch menu, and she assured us that we did for BOTH lunch and dinner since it was only 30 minutes before dinner. However, past 4 PM, she suddenly stopped us at the buffet, claiming that certain items were for dinner. This was baffling since the menu hardly changed—only a new batch of desserts, roast beef, and a few other items were added. She never clarified any restrictions when we asked earlier, and it was incredibly embarrassing to be confronted while getting food. To avoid further hassle, we just offered to pay for the dinner menu, to which she casually replied, "Oh okay, continue." Who does that?
As for the food, it was a letdown. For an Asian cuisine restaurant, the flavors were underwhelming—bland, overcooked, and lacking freshness. The sesame chicken was tough, the roast beef had some flavor but was extremely overcooked, and the hot and sour soup was neither hot nor sour. The stuffed potato tasted more like bread than potatoes, and the noodles were plain and uninspired.
What I did enjoy: The garlic shrimp (though overcooked, it was seasoned well), the mushroom medley, mixed vegetables, and a few desserts—the mocha square and chocolate ice cream (rich, creamy, and pleasantly dark). The bubblegum ice cream was also decent.
However, I had serious concerns about food hygiene. The water had an odd aftertaste, and the serving utensils were poorly handled—left on the side without a plate, touching other dishes, leading to visible cross-contamination.
The venue itself was spacious, with ample parking due to its plaza location. However, the ambiance was off—the bright orange and blue walls clashed, making the lighting feel inconsistent. It wasn’t a pleasant dining atmosphere.
Overall, a bad experience. The restaurant desperately needs to improve its food quality, hygiene, and—most importantly—customer service. The staff’s rude behaviour was unacceptable.
I cannot in good mind recommend this place. There are far better options nearby—save your...
