I went to the Brantford location last week with a friend of mine to celebrate his birthday. We had the nachos and we went for the large platter with chili beef on it and we were going to order Burgers but the nachos were so big that we were full by the time we finished them. We had chili added to our nachos and it tasted great the service was really good and I've been there many times in the past and always had a great meal and great service. When I got home that night I wasn't feeling well and I thought I might be coming down with a cold because I was sweating I had a fever and then I had diarrhea and I thought due to the season that I just caught a cold however the next day my friend texted me the one I took out for his birthday and he said are you sick? and I said yes and he said so am I I've been throwing up and having diarrhea... so we both got food poisoning from the nachos with the chili on it so I called the location and ask to speak to the manager and I told her what happened and she took my name and phone number and I waited a week for her to get back to me and no one did. I haven't received a call or text and like I said I've been there many times before and the food was great and friendly staff good atmosphere it was a great place to eat however this last time it made myself and my friend who I took there for his birthday violently sick after we ate the food and it had to be the chili beef that had gone bad. It wasn't a coincidence that we both fell ill after eating there that day. I had breakfast and nothing else to eat that day. We've both been food poisoned and we both got sick from eating the food at this restaurant and when she took my name and number I thought she would do a follow-up why else would you ask for a name and number but she didn't call because they don't care. Update Kelsey s manager responded the situation very quickly and rectified it. Thank you so much. As I know when your food is hot it is ecxcellent. I do know mistakes happen and I am happy to say how impressed I am with the quick response and making me feel like I matter! I will certainly go back soon.
Only 2 * My pick up time was 2:25 pm All good ask at the front for my food order was told it was being packaged. Waite and waited the young man never came back to check and bring me my order. About 5 minutes into my wait a few people showed up to be seated for a larger group. I waited 15 minutes and when the very young man came to talk to the people of the group I was telling him about my worries that my food would be cold. He responded he had this big group to prepare for and replied that it would only take about 1 minute to get my food. He just procceded to go back to seating the group . I notice that another waiter had notice me and I think could read in my face that I really would like my food. This is why I gave a 2 star because someone that had nothing to do notice me. Thank you for that However how I feared my food was almost cold had to reheat. The only thing that was tasty was my salad my poutine was soggy and barely warm. The same for the other meals I had ordered. For $77.00 for 3 meals you could expect it to be at least warmer not almost cold. Had I been sitting in the dinning room this would be an equivalent to waiting 15 minutes for you food on the counter because seating a group that had not even ordered anything yet would get the preferential treatment. Read moreIt was really busy. So much so that we had to wait for half an hour after our reservation time of 6:15 to be seated. We were a party of two families, five kids, nine people total. First the hostess lied and said our table was being cleaned. Then later said that customers at our table paid but were not leaving. The place was so hot inside, the entrance area is so tight with people waiting to be seated. The service was ok at first. I ordered just a plain Burger 101, a simple lettuce, tomato, onion, and mayo burger. The patty was thin, over-cooked and dry. The fries were soft, almost soggy. Other party members complained about their fries as well. Other complaints included watery burnt gravy. Grilled cheese with little cheese. Don't get me wrong, some things were good apparently, like wings, fish burger, buffalo finger burger. But that's not what I ordered. Our table was not being cleared. It was piling up with plates. The only thing being cleared were cups. Empty app plates were still on the table. Finally we were waiting for the bill. It was messed up twice with items being charged on the wrong bills. We literally waited for half an hour for the 3rd and luckily correct bill. The server was being difficult or reluctant about issuing Scene points for the meal. She wrote down the number but not sure if she issued it. At this point everyone just wanted to leave. Suffice to say the service was well beyond subpar from start to finish. When we left the table was still not cleared. It is disappointing since I've been eating at Kelsey's for well over thirty years since opening in Burlington.
