I visited this place for lunch and wow, was there ever a lineup! It was nearly to the front entrance. Despite the long line, it moved quite quickly and efficiently. The workers behind the counter were plentiful and they were able to manage the lunch crowd in a timely manner. There is a cafeteria lunch style counter where you can see all of the food behind glass, let's you get an idea of what the food looks like. I got the vegetable soup, pulled pork sandwich, and a cabbage roll, something that I've always wanted to try. I found the pulled pork sandwich a bit too sweet but the portion was good something that I couldn't finish on my own. The soup was not what I expected, it weirdly tasted sweet as well and the veggies were cut very chunky, which is fair considering I rather be able to see the vegetables in a vegetable soup. For both the pulled pork sandwich and the soup, I guess I was expecting something more savory. As for the cabbage roll, I was disappointed, I was expecting something a little bit meatier. It tasted overly sauced, but then again I'm not sure what they are supposed to taste like, since it was my first cabbage roll. I would go back just to try some of the other things on the menu, like their deli meats and sandwiches, maybe a different type of soup as well. The chicken schnitzel looked amazing, so I would try to go back and try that. There is also a store where you can purchase lots of food, like a mini-grocery, when next time I go in I will have to check that out.

I recently stopped into Strodes for the first time. The pork butt I picked up turned out excellent on the smoker with the Meat Church Honey Hog rub that I also picked up at Strodes. I'm not sure Meat Church rubs are worth the high cost but they are quite good. I also picked up Honey Garlic and Italian sausages. This is where I have the problem. The sausages aren't good. They had lots of inedible chunks in them and one of the honey garlic was another flavour that wasn't honey garlic. The Italian sausages also had chunks in them but the flavour was way off. I can't recommend the sausages. I grabbed some pepperettes and they were excellent. They had great flavour and were nice and dry. Strodes is an interesting store with a little bit of everything. Their cuts of meat look great and the pork butt, as mentioned, was excellent. The vast selection of rubs, sauces, smokers and grills is great. The folks working were really friendly. I'll most definitely be returning but I'm going to be skipping the sausages.

We went to Brantford today to play some disc golf and stopped at Strodes to grab a sandwich to take along. It was our first time there, but I guarantee you it won't be the last. We were greeted warmly by several employees, all busy dishing up food, cleaning, or serving customers. We hadn't realized they had a full deli counter filled with fresh Ontario products. Everything looked delicious. We bought some stuffed pork chops and splurged on a New York sirloin. At the hot food counter, we got a schnitzel sandwich, and my son got pulled pork. These things were massive - I could only eat half of mine - and delicious. So fresh, flavourful, and balanced. From the displays to the cleanliness, the variety of products, and most importantly, the service, Strodes Deli is a gem. We plan on going back this spring to purchase a smoker. I wish I could give six stars. Go! You won't be disappointed.

We had heard good things regarding this meat/butcher/take-out store. On this occasion 10/04/2025 on a nice sunny Saturday day, we took a peaceful drive through the backroads from West-Hamilton up to Brantford, ON. We found “Strouds” to be quite reasonably priced, with a wide assortment of meats to choose from. We picked up a nice small sirloin beef roast, about a couple pounds of lean ground beef, 2 huge thick pork chops, a couple of beef meat pies and about 400 grams of sliced Black Forest Ham for sandwiches. Just to try out their meat, as this was our first time there. While we were there, they have several foods on the menu, cooked in house, from sausage on a bun, chicken or schnitzel on a bun, many soups, salads, too many to mention here in this review. We went with 2 schnitzel on the buns for a very reasonable price. I thinks it was $7.00 + HST. Sandwich was HUGE, I couldn’t even eat it in one setting, was stacked with schnitzel meat, condiments, tomato, onion, pickles, fresh lettuce on a fresh Kaiser bun and schnitzel was lightly coated and was tender (not stringy or dry). Lots of parking, located in a small strip mall, they also sell BBQ’s in store and apparently do catering also. P.S. We cooked the sirloin beef roast we bought the next Sunday, in a slow cooker. Came out nice and tender, didn’t shrink and tasted awesome. We can’t wait to try all the meat we purchased on this day. We will definitely be making the trip up to Brantford, ON again and purchase our meat at this store/butcher shop. Hidden Gem, well worth the drive. Highly recommend by these satisfied customers, friending and accommodating staff...

would give ZERO STARS if it were an option. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE SERVICE. that's an understatement.. i didn't even GET service.. i called and place an order for pick up so i didn't have to walk in and wait in a huge line. normal right? i have the call log from when i called. the guy on the phone was EXTREMELY rude. he asked "so when are you coming" in my head i'm thinking (uhm now.. or else i wouldn't order it now lol) so i said "i'm coming now because i live far" so it takes me a little bit of time to drive there. then he immediately rushed to cut me off and say " I KNOW, but i need to know your name so i know who is picking it up" so rude. i told him my name and he said okay cya soon or whatever. then i drove all the way there, walked in, said i'm here for the order for Alexis and the girl asked the guy and he said " i don't have an order for alexis" and then she asked what i ordered and they didn't have that order either .. so they say.. i have the call log and i drove all the way there and had to come back home and make food like i should've done in the first place. why take my order and then act like you didn't? so rude.. there was about 15 people there and i didn't have time to wait.. hence why i called ahead .. never going again.. wasn't for me anyways.. went to Jimmy The Greek in the mall for my boyfriend instead and got GREAT customer service and great...
