tl;dr we were missing a $8.95 order that we paid via Door Dash and the restaurant said we would be "saving money anyways even if we are missing one order" because their online price is supposedly lower than their actual price..
We are/were a regular at the restaurant, We've gone in many times and ordered numerous times over the phone last few years. We ordered and paid ~$113 of food online yesterday and happened to use Door Dash. We picked it up and noticed we were missing appetizer tempura. We called the restaurant to notify we were missing an order and they proceeded to deny and said "no it should be there." We also told them the receipt attached on the bag was missing the order but on my order history it was clearly listed. We assume they never made it to begin with. But we stayed polite and asked if they can refund us for the missing item. They said no and gave us the option to pick it up. So we said then we can go back. When we went back and tried to show them the receipt, she snatched it, crumpled it, and threw it in the trash without looking. She said that they charge less on Door Dash and that we are saving money even without the $8.95 item that we never got.
Does this sound like a reasonable thing to say to a customer missing an order due to their fault? And is it my fault that they supposedly charge less online than...
Read moreI'll say the decor is quite pleasant and the attention to detail is noticeable. We came here because our daughter and her husband had previously visited and said it was OK. We ordered miso soup, California/dynamite combo, agedashi tofu and the Sushi tower. 🍣 the miso soup was just ok. A little watered down. The cali/dynamite combo in our opinion has too much fake crab meat and not enough veggies. It was good that it wasn't overloaded with sushi rice which some Japanese places do. These sushi rolls are a bit large. May I suggest to them that they think about quality over quantity. The agedashi tofu's batter was not seasoned at all and relied purely on the accompanying sauce for flavour. Too bad. Now on to the sushi 🍣 tower, nicely presented with fresh tasting mango, various torched fish like salmon was delicious but lacking seasoning. There was a layer of spicy tuna on the bottom that I believe was too spicy and not flavourful enough. I've tried sushi towers of two other restaurants and this doesn't hold a candle to those because the seasoning is lacking. I'm a bit disappointed but perhaps other items may be good. I'd like to come back to try the other items because everyone deserves a second chance. The service is excellent here. They are friendly and attentive. Their green tea is authentic and served hot. Thank you...
Read moreA great addition to the area! My friend and I dined here mid week and were pleasantly surprised to see the consistent flow of people; even after the typical 530pm dinner rush. The space is inviting and keeps that west coast feel with wood accents and coastal type art. The menu has many option with lots of details making you want to try everything. They offer Japanese fare along with Japanese 'fusion' which was a combination of Korean/Japanese flavors. We tried a few of their rolls, kimchi fried rice, Korean Fried Chicken along with a few other small bites. Everything was nicely presented, expertly seasoned and at the temperature it should be (hot food hot, cold food cold). I very much enjoyed the sashimi which came in a half order of 4 pieces. The cut was slightly bigger than what other sushi joints in town offer which was a nice bonus. While we opted for tea when we dined we were pleased to see that they were licensed and had a nice variety of beers, wine and sake. The staff was extremely friendly and the prices were fair. The space has a nice ambiance with lots of table combinations; including a large communal type table which would be great fun on a busy night. Ample free parking. A great...
