My husband and I visited Dairy Queen Walkerton on December 29 at 10 PM and ordered two Double Cheeseburger Lovers Combos (4 burgers, 2 drinks, and 2 fries, upgraded to poutine). While DQ is our go-to fast food spot when we're craving their food, this visit left me disappointed due to the service experience.
The cashier, who was clearly new, was very friendly. However, she punched in the orders individually instead of as combos. When I checked the total price, it matched my expectations, so I didnât think much of it. Unfortunately, she didnât provide a receipt, and I didnât ask for one (my mistake).
At home, we realized there was only one poutine instead of two. I called the store to inform her, but she insisted that I ordered only one poutine despite me repeatedly stating I had ordered combo meals. When I asked why she didnât process it as combos, she maintained that I had ordered separately.
What frustrated me wasnât just the mix-up but the lack of accountability. I was hoping for a simple apology or acknowledgment of the misunderstanding, but none was offered.
I donât hold anything against the store itselfâitâs still one of my favorites. However, proper training and a focus on customer service could have turned this situation around. Mistakes happen, but how they're addressed makes all...

Her eyes grew wide when she'd just saw what she payed for, but didn't bother with it. We hadn't noticed until we got our ice cream. We drove out of the drive through assuming we had what we came for. When we parked to eat, we had realized it wasn't what we ordered. I went in to ask if we could get the right ice cream and the lady told us no because the receipt already matches the order we got. When I told them it was the wrong receipt the lady rolled her eyes and didn't listen. we waited 30 minutes until we finally talked to the manager. The manager told us that we could just have the meal that we got because we are not getting our money back. This was the first time they gave us trouble but we have made it clear that we are not returning to the Walkerton...
   Read moreNot sure why so many people bitche about slow if u go during the busy hours then yes LIKE any other place at lunch or dinner times they get busy .....u can only do so much at a time and even in their busy hours their still faster then most dqs. I give them props its more then speed its how they react when they have to deal with pos people and thier additudes. Seen some people take thier anger out on dq employees and thier paid to do thier job not take people's bs so i stood up for the person behind the counter. Its just food u want it that bad have some patience try to understand what it's actually like there if u were to switch shoes. I realise its fast food but if u go during busy hours then whose fault is that not theirs. That's on u. Food is great the customer service is great and love how u guys kept the spoon handle.
