Interestingly enough - when I purchased a half dozen doughnuts, I was advised by the server that I was not allowed any "upgraded" doughnuts; however, every other Timmie's I have visited has allowed anywhere from 2 to 3 upgrades in a 6-pack of doughnuts.
A different emoyee said to my server that I was allowed only 1 of the upgraded doughnuts.
The server, it seemed, that I had - it was their first day of work, and apparently, they had not been thoroughly trained.
I am unsure if the person who was assisting my server was thoroughly trained themselves.
They discussed it amongst themselves for a while as they were trying to decide if I would be permitted an upgraded doughnut in my 6-pack.
Really, it seems to this customer that it is a lot of work for a doughnut.
You should read the threads on Reddit.
Even Timmie's employees say the training videos allow for at least 2 specialty doughnuts in a 6-pack and 5 in a dozen.
For my part, I do not care because I have stopped being a fan of their doughnuts when they went from made fresh daily to being frozen.
Ditto for their coffee. It used to be the best, and now it is unpalatable. If I have zero choice of buying my beverage anywhere else other than Timmie's, and if I cannot seem to go without, then I will buy a steeped tea.
Otherwise, I head to McDonald's for my coffee.
Timmie's is slowly alienating customers, and thus, nickel and diming over doughnut prices is ridiculous in the extreme.
FYI, when doughnuts at Timmie's were made from scratch, apple fritter dough and the dough that made the dutchie's were the scrap dough left over from all of the pinning and cuttings left over from when the other doughnuts were made - which made me chuckle when folks saud they preferred dutchies. They were the dregs of the dough - this us why, I think, apples and cinnamon were added to fritters and raisins soaked in water, etc, to the dutchies - they needed something to get them moist.
Now they are made elsewhere, frozen and reheated as needed.
But Timmie's makes dances a big deal.
Honestly, it seems to this person that it is a marketing cash...
Read moreThis place has some major issues that David the owner really needs to address. First off, their treatment of student workers is absurd. They hardly give them shifts and rob them of their every weekend by making them work all weekends and often only weekends leaving the ones who want to work and wants shifts needing to find a different job because they’re treated so unfairly. Secondly, once kids go off to find another job and the staff find out about it beware of the disrespectful treatment you receive from this. One of the days that the supervisor, Megan and Manager was working together, staff overheard the two speaking so terribly about these 2 teens who are leaving the company all because what? They chose to part ways and go find a more suitable job for themselves? How is it wrong for a student to do that? What gives you the right to slam them and spread lies about their work ethics? How is it right for YOU as the ADULT to speak like this and treat kids this way. Kids. Teenage kids. Tim Hortons is supposed to be a first job for teens, sometimes second jobs, whatever it is, it isn’t supposed to be miserable and upsetting. Just because you are miserable as the adult who has to work minimum wage jobs, don’t take that out on the kids. I feel strongly as a parent that something needs to be done here about these people and also needs to be done about the employment standards of students and how to accommodate and make their job experiences more enjoyable in an already stressful world and fast paced work environment. Absolutely terrible to see these “leaders” lead in the manner that they are. Megan - you should be ashamed of yourself. To the manager and assistant manager. Shame on you both. Do better. Be better, lead better. Set the example. This isn’t the one to be setting for others…. Absolutely disgusted. You’ve lost all my business and...
Read moreWalkerton Ontario location accepting mobile orders but not unlocking the door & frankly presenting quite the attitude about it. Really bad customer service & employees should be addressed for representing your business that way. If you can't open your doors yet then you can't be accepting mobile orders yet. Insisting that drive-thru be the only method for retrieving mobile orders is not only discriminate to walkers, but also contributing to the carbon so anyone that has any complaints about carbon tax or carbon offset costs should really consider getting their coffee at on of the Hanover Ontario locations which always open their doors at the time they say they will be open instead of getting high horse about it. When the doors were finally unlocked over a half-hour late Inwas threatened with a trespassing charge & informed I wouldn't be the first. Well is that handy that Tims employees can fail to open on time habitually & not only can I not be upset about this, but also their priority is to threaten rather than serve. I don't believe threatening customers is part of any customer service job description & I am sure that Tims corporate wouldn't appreciate having such a reputation. The Walkerton store is an example of people that feel protected at work while giving attitude about not opening on time & that is a sickening situation of entitlement. Aside from my having to wait outside for over a half-hour after they were to have opened, I was also not allowed to make a purchase. What is the point of having a location that turns people against your corporation with the umbrage they feel they deserve more than you deserve to have your employees do their job.
I wish to grant all employees working at that location this morning five stars for...
