Cocodak is a place that has been on my list for a very long time and I'm sad to say,I was disappointed with my experience there. As an appetizer,we received a spicy cabbage salad and some radish...neither were enjoyable,it didn't feel like much effort was put into the appetizer. My second appetizer was some Sweet and Spicy Boneless chicken, which was also underwhelming, the inside of the chicken felt dry and overcooked, but as a consolation,I did enjoy the crispiness of the outside. My entree was Spicy Small Octopus With Rice, the flavouring that they added i the stir fry was delicious, but the baby octopus itself was rubbery and took a long time to chew. 2/5 The service we received was just okay. The staff catered to us when needed. 3/5 My experience at the restaurant wasn't very pleasant. For one,we were seated right near the door and each and every time someone opened the door, this rush of cold wind would brush against my legs and back.We then requested to move to a different table, this time the table was near the window and although the view of the snow falling on St Catherine was beautiful, our mesmerization wouldn't last long as the windows let cold air seep in again. Not to mention, the seating areas felt a little cramped,it's as if we were sitting at one table with...
Read moreI have to admit that the garage door that opens up caught me off guard. I find that quite amusing and it does let in a nice breeze during the summer time. The food here was a bit expensive in my opinion but the portion served is definitely filling and reasonably large. The flavours for the fried chicken were amazing. Not only that, but the sauce complemented so well the crispy skin and tender meat. I was really happy with that appetizer and also with the side dishes that came along but then I was a bit disappointed by their BBQ sets. I wish they would have marinated the meat with some flavours because it was really plain. Even though the cuts were nice and well presented, the flavours were lacking for me. I was also not a big fan of the condiments they served as dips with the meats but I can see why some people enjoy it. Plenty of freshly looking vegetables were also served with the meat which is a plus for me but some of the meat slices smelled a bit weird so I'm not quite sure how fresh those are. The service was friendly and polite and it was an overall pleasant experience. I would definitely like to come back again for more fried wings and try some of their soups, they do...
Read moreBased on the review and rating , I expected something really impressive, but the food was underwhelming to be fair I only tried the bimbimbap and the tteokbokki(and fried chicken) . But the place is slightly overpriced for the portions size. And the overall dishes seemed lacking. To be fair if you've never tasted Korean food, this is a good introduction place but with time and other places to compare you'll realize there are a lot more, and better ones in Montreal, but to be fair it's still relatively recent they opened not so long ago, so maybe I'll give it a try. Also side note , I felt sorry for the staff they were barely 2 serving clients, and they messed up my order , and honestly as long as they brought me my stuff I didn't mind, but they still offered me a free drink for the inconvenience, which is quite rare nowadays, even when the food is ordinary Customer service and ambiance goes a long way. Props to them for that. I wish them a...
