We’ve been loyal customers for the past two years, but unfortunately, our experience tonight was extremely disappointing. Upon entering, my husband and I stood at the entrance for over five minutes without being acknowledged, even though both owners (husband and wife) walked past us multiple times. After waiting, my husband approached the lady at the counter to ask if we could sit at an available table. The lady responded with a dismissive attitude, asking, "Do you have a reservation?" When my husband replied, "No," she curtly said, "Okay, give me a minute, sir," again with an aggressive tone.
At that point, I was ready to leave, but my husband really wanted Greek food, so we decided to stay. We were seated, but it took another 10 minutes before anyone came to take our order. The same lady approached, speaking to us in French, even though we responded in English. I politely asked if she spoke English, to which she responded, "Yes," and switched to English. I was puzzled as to why I had to ask her to speak English when I had already been answering in English.
When I inquired about whether they still served garlic bread as a complimentary snack, she informed me that they offered gratine bread and cheese as an appetizer instead. I clarified that I was referring to warm bread with garlic butter, which many restaurants serve as a complimentary item, but she replied, "No, we don’t do that here. We don’t offer anything for free," with a noticeable attitude.
As we waited, my husband asked how much longer it would take for our food to arrive. She responded with another 10-15 minutes, asking, "Why are you in a rush?" When my husband explained that we were hungry, she replied, "Well, everything is made fresh here, so your chicken brochette will take time to cook." Again, her tone was unprofessional and dismissive throughout the interaction.
At this point, I couldn’t ignore her attitude any longer and expressed that I found her tone rude. I explained that we were regular customers but had always been served by other staff members, and at that, she stated, "I’m not going to apologize, I know myself."
It’s beyond me how someone with such poor customer service can be in charge of managing a restaurant. We decided to leave in the end, as we simply couldn’t tolerate the treatment. It’s such a shame, as we’ve enjoyed dining here in the past, but unfortunately, we won’t be returning after...
Read moreA comfortable and good restaurant! I've lived in the area for a while and hadn't come across this one until now and was so pleasantly surprised by both the quality and the service/atmosphere of the place.
Classic, well maintained and nicely decorated restaurant. Makes you feel comfortable right away!
The staff is very nice, polite and helpful. The ease and comfort they show makes you feel welcomed and not rushed.
The food was very good. We had pork gyros with calamari and spanakopita. Calamaris were amazing, thickness was better than any other place we've been and they were cooked perfectly (no rubbery texture to be found anywhere!) Spanakopita is slightly different from what I've had in the past, but absolutely worth it. It was delicious and surprisingly big! Had to take some of it home as leftovers! The gyros had an insane amount of tzatziki, which is the EXACT amount I like in my gyros! The meat was delicious and the pita was warm and soft.
I couldn't resist and took a baklava to take home and boy did it not disappoint. Nutty, flakey and with delicious syrup.
The amount of food we had for the price was also a good deal. Had some lunch for the day after, which I loved.
All around a great experience, from...
Read moreI am not a big fan of their fried calamari rings since the breading was too soft and not really adding flavours to the seafood. It just felt like eating calamari, I didn't feel like it was fried. Also, I find it quite expensive for the portion given. On the other hand, I really enjoyed their Gyro plate. The portion was matching the price and the flavours were great. I especially liked the slightly charred chicken giving the extra charred flavours which complemented the dish very well. Some would say it's a bit burnt, but I did enjoy it. Another thing I enjoyed was their pita bread and their crispy fries. The rice was less appealing to me because they lacked a bit of flavour and some grains had a hard texture as if it was still a bit raw. Even though I really enjoy my carbs, 3 different main carbs is a bit too much for me. I wish they would balance the meal out a bit with some vegetables, it would make the meal lighter and more enjoyable...
