I went into Mamas Pizza having ordered one of their pizzas with vegan Monterey Jack cheese, as I have not eaten dairy in well over four years. Being both very hungry and only on my 15 minute break from the next door Starbucks, I ate much of the pizza before realising that it was clearly not Monterey Jack. I had hoped that it was just the vegan mozzerella. Shortly after, my stomach started to churn and I felt unwell. I was at that point suspicious of the fact it was not vegan cheese at all. I asked the employee behind the desk who assured me it was what I ordered, so I got a second, and third opinion from my coworkers who both agreed that it wasn't. I went back, feeling worse, to ask for my money back.
The employee behind the desk fought my claim, and when I demanded to be reimbursed, he said he had to call his manager. After speaking with his manager for about a minute, in a language I do not speak, he handed over the phone. The manager, without having been in the store from the point I ordered it, told me it absolutely was vegan. I told him I wanted my money back. He then said "if you ate the pizza, you would be sick in 48 hours from our pizza, you would not know until then". He then proceeded to blame the food I ate earlier today. I continued to demand my money back and after the sixth time, he says "you work at Starbucks!?" "I do" "only because you work at starbucks, you will get your money back".
Take that how you will. I will never go back purely due to the way this was handled by the staff and management. Not because of the screw up. We all mess up sometimes, that is forgivable. However I'm extremely disappointed in the experience of dealing with a manager who yells and implicates customers as...
Read moreI am a regular customer here and I couldn’t have been more appalled about the customer service that was provided by the owner after they messed up my order.
I preordered pizza for pickup, and I opened the boxes to check on the way out since I’ve had pizza made incorrectly in the past at this location. Sure enough, one of the pizzas was incorrect. I mentioned there was a mistake and before even checking the order the owner stated I must be wrong. After proving to him that I was correct, he said they can remake it, but it would take 10 mins. I ordered in advance so I wouldn’t have to wait, but given the order was wrong, agreed to wait.
When it was done, the box was handed to us with no apology or compensation for the inconvenience. After questioning this, the owner grabs a bottle of coke and puts it on the counter. I laughed, thinking this was a joke. He then put two cans of coke on the counter. I said I don’t want the coke. He said “well what do you want then?”. I said refund or a free pizza would be appropriate. He took down my name for a free pizza, but who knows if this will be honoured. Can’t say I’m happy to go back...
Read moreMy experience with Mama's Pizza in Burlington was quite disappointing. I placed an order and specifically asked for hot pepper on only three slices. The person taking my order assured me it was not a problem. However, upon arriving home, I discovered that the entire pizza was covered in hot pepper.
This mistake was particularly inconvenient as the pizza was intended for a kids' birthday party. When I called the restaurant to address the issue, the girl on the phone offered a mere 15% discount on my next order. I explained that the pizza was for children and that a discount on a future order wouldn't resolve the immediate problem. She suggested calling in the morning.
The next day, when I spoke to the owner, I received the same unhelpful offer of a 15% discount for the inconvenience. The lack of customer service and unwillingness to take responsibility for their mistake left me frustrated and dissatisfied. I cannot recommend Mama's Pizza due to their poor handling of errors and...
