Sakis Mediterranean & Greek Restaurant — Restaurant in Burlington

I have a lot of concerns about Sakis. The four star rating is reflective of the quality and pricing of their food. I've ordered from them a few times now and I'll admit that the quality of their food, the reasonably priced items and the generous servings are the only reason I continue to choose them.

However, their customer service and basic service skills greatly need improvement. The first time we ordered we were told by skip the dishes that delivery would be within 35-55 minutes. I have significant dietary restrictions but also have medical concerns that require medication to be taken by a certain time. Knowing this, I specifically chose a restaurant based on what I could eat and what would arrive in time. We placed the order and then received an update stating that it would actually be 60-90 minutes. We called to confirm this and asked to cancel the order knowing my concerns. I was told we couldn't cancel and that if I wanted to cancel I needed to call skip the dishes. I didn't cancel and decided to wait as I'd spent $60. After 90 minutes however nothing arrived. When I called back i was told that they didn't make my order and had no intention of delivering despite having not received a cancelation and telling me it couldn't be canceled. I waited another half an hour for them to come deliver my order that night. It was an awful experience but I was happy about the quality of the food.

When I tried them next, we came to them to order take out. The restaurant is surprisingly nice, clean and modern looking. However their customer service again leaves much to be desired. I asked for a Caesar salad and if I could get it without croutons. The response I received was "I don't know". It was entirely too much work to try to get my salad without croutons. The person at the counter needed to involve another staff member who he didn't give the full information to so they gave me a response that didn't make sense. Lastly I ordered the Caesar salad with chicken shawarma with extra chicken shawarma. I was charged for my salad and the more expensive side order of chicken shawarma with Tzaziki sauce, which I cannot eat. I'm not sure why this happened as they offer extra meat specifically for this dish at $2.99.

UPDATE: I tried their Chicken Souvlaki and they've nailed it! Reminds me of Malai Chicken Tikka from India. Strong smokey flavour, perfectly grilled! Perfect blend of spices and creaminess. Definitely my favorite from them. Their fries are perfectly crispy, golden and not too greasy. Their fries and Tzatziki are some of the best I've had in Canada!

Impressive food and impressive prices. Fast service and friendly staff. Their preparation style and pita bread are different than the usual shawarma joints, but they beat EVERY other shawarma place I've been at, with their flavour. I haven't found any other joint that makes it like they do. You'll literally feel it in the first bite. Chicken was fresh, juicy and perfectly roasted. Great garlic sauce & tzatziki. Besides that, we've loved their fries and Greek salad too. Gonna try Souvlaki next time.
