I regret to actually mention this as a review as I never thought I would have such an unsatisfactory experience ordering from an Indian restaurant in Canada.Honestly,in one word, the food was disappointing.Ordered Chilli chicken gravy and hakka fried rice for a small party for my son’s birthday.I called for order and the guy was actually helpful. He made sensible suggestions and when I told him the party was for little less than 10 ppl,he told me how about bulk order for 15 people than ordering 5 or 6 of them separately & save on the price & I accepted his offer.I repeatedly asked him if the food would be good and told him since its only a few ppl gathering I wanted the food to be the best & it was my first time ordering from there. He assured me everything and finally my food arrived. My friend who picked up the order brought in the food and his first comment was ‘I don’t think this is for 15 ppl,I wonder if it got messed up with someone else’s order, and as I opened I realized what he was talking about. It was not even enough to serve the 6 people that only turned up to the party and as a blessing in disguise,I hadn’t had to worry at all as no one hardly liked it and barely had enough, which saved me from running out of food.
The hakka fried rice simple tasted so bitter and bland with no flavours. The chilli chicken I would say was simply too much ketchup and salty vinegar tasting and was watery.Chicken did not feel fresh and I was embarrassed hearing one of my guests saying it smelled bad.
I would say the only saving grace was the gulab jamun which was spot on.
I am sorry I had to explain all this but I would make sure I never ever make the mistake of ordering back from here again as I was left so humiliated in front of my guests who actually were nice to me to at least have had some of it.
I wouldn’t be surprised if people left similar comments & I did go through few that shared the similar experience.
This is a heartfelt & sincere review I made honestly and I hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else who order here & sincerely hope you guys work on your order delivery atleast after reading this. The saddest part is I made the order first thing in the morning when the restaurant opened & wanted the delivery only by 6:30 in the evening, still I am surprised they messed up...
Read moreI called the restaurant just 30 minutes before closing time, inquiring if it was still possible to dine in since I happened to be in the area. To my pleasant surprise, they graciously welcomed me in. I ordered the butter chicken and garlic naan, and to say it exceeded my expectations would be an understatement. The butter chicken, a dish I've tried at numerous places across the GTA, was unparalleled in Burlington. Its perfection lay in its savoury richness, the delectable sauce that melted in my mouth, and the flawless balance of spices. What truly set this experience apart was the exceptional service. The staff went above and beyond, accommodating my last-minute request to dine in, and even stayed late to ensure I could enjoy my meal without any rush. This outstanding level of service coupled with their butter chicken makes this place the best in Burlington. I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to savour their delicious offerings and without a doubt, I'll be returning. I wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone, not just for the incredible food, but also for the outstanding service that truly elevates the dining experience...
Read moreWow! I haven't even finished eating yet (takeout) and I felt like I needed to come review Royal Cumin immediately.
For context, my order: 1x chicken biryani, 1x egg bhurji, 1x khaas fish tikka, 2x chole bhature, 1x butter naan, 1x plain naan. The order was meant for two people.
So, if you've eaten Indian food often and are like me, you start getting favourite places for different staples. I just had THE best naan (amazing texture, fluffy, doughy, fresh), the best bhature AND the best fish tikka I've ever eaten...and I haven't even scratched the surface of their menu yet. I'm sitting here next to my girlfriend, both bloated, dying - because it was so good we ate twice as much as we wanted to - and I'm already reading the menu to see what I want to get next time. They have so many things that sound interesting as well as different takes on Western fusion dishes.
We didn't even eat half the food yet. What we ordered is easily enough for 4 hungry adults. I wish I had a photo to post but that'll have to be next time. It smelled so good we were opening the containers before we even took our coats off.
Amazing job, guys. Can't wait...
