I saw people's excellent reviews and high rating online, so I decided to give it a try!

I called and preordered the food and went to pick up in person. This is a real Taiwanese restaurant running by Taiwanese people. Awesome! Very authentic. I love it!

The order was ready in 15-20 mins. I ordered 3 dishes. One was fried pork chop with rice and 3 side dishes; one was salt & pepper chicken with rice and 3 side dishes; and the last one was shredded pork stir fried noodle. All of them were very good!!! Very authentic!!! The restaurant put extra pork with soy sauce on top of the rice. it made the dish even better. Not a lot of Taiwanese restaurant would do that! Looking at one of the 3 side dishes, they really put an effort to make it well. The spring sprouts cooked with minced pork, carrots and some fresh Chinese black mushrooms and some seasoning. This little side dish added some marks to the dish!

The price was reasonable and affordable! Looking at their menu, there were 29 dishes. I believe most of them are very good although i have not tried them all. I would definitely go back and try other dishes! The server or business owner told me that their spicy eggplant stir-fry, sweet and sour pork with rice and other dishes were good and a lot of people love to order them. I can't wait to try them all.

The customer service was excellent even though I was only doing the pickup. The server or business owner was very friendly. She gave me the menu, so i don't have to look up online when i want to order next time.

Two things I would like to mention:

location of the restaurant - It is right next to the entrance of the parking lot. The restaurant is facing the street and the public library. I parked at the mall and walked around. I couldn't find the restaurant. I called and the restaurant told me their location.

cash only (no...

TLDR - Great value home-cooked style food with heart / Perfect low-key dine out / Bring your own take-out containers or buy for a small fee

Came here with my mom and we had a very nice lunch. Located outside just to the right of the parkade entrance, it was a bit confusing as the signage about the door was from a previous restaurant but there is a sandwich board outside that will assure you that they indeed exist. It's a very quaint place that will serve well for a quiet meal.

The kind elderly cook came out to greet us and made some small talk while we were deciding on our orders, making us feel very much at home. As for the food, we got the combo deal (entree A+B, a plate of Asian vegetables, and a generous side of deep fried pillowy tofu). It also came with two bowls of rice and a choice for miso soup or old-fashioned black tea (highly recommend the iced tea - it's delicious). Deep fried chicken nuggets were solid, and I discovered the red bean curd pork was similar to a dish I had at Myst (but labeled fried red yeast pork - basically a sweet and savory cutlet).

The amount of food was too much to finish, so we took the rest home. Please note there is an understandable charge for containers so I suggest bringing your own (my friend recommends keeping some in the car). I can't wait to share this place...

Update 2023 January 25 We came back at dinner and ordered from the $35 set.

Pick item from A - Salt Pepper Chicken, crunchy soft tasty morsels..

Pick Item B - Pineapple Prawns, tasty but too much mayo for our taste

Includes Garlic stir fried Vegetables- Bok Choy , Soft fried Tofu, either Iced Black Tea or Miso Soup + 2 bowls of rice.

It was a good value set and the food came out at a timely fashion.

Checked out a small Taiwanese place in Crystal Mall in Burnaby.. it’s actually outside of Crystal Mall by the entrance to the parking. Google Map says it’s a Kingsway address.

My friend said it was the old Alisan, it’s now called Aroma Eatery. Seats about 10-15 people with 2 four tops and 3 two tops and some bar chairs by the window.

We both ordered the Beef Noodle Soup as we read on other reviews that they run out fast.

It was delicious with tender large chunks of beef, lovely al dente noodles and slurp-worthy soup base. The soup is slightly sweet more than salty, very flavourful. The noodle also comes with cold Sweetened black tea which was a happy surprise to us.

While we were there a few family dropped in to eat and I see the many sets they offered was devoured by happy eaters.

We will go back again to try the different boxed sets and...
