As the weather cools down, I’m constantly craving noodles and I’m happy I finally tried Yunshang after walking by it on the way to Crystal Mall a bunch of times. We ordered the Tomato Rice Noodle Soup ($12.59) and added on bamboo shoots. After a quick wait, the server brought over a literal cauldron of boiling hot tomato soup accompanied by a bowl of rice noodles. The noodles were cooked perfectly, not overcooked and limp and still had some chew. We threw the noodles into the soup for a few seconds before serving. The soup was tomatoey and had everything from woodear, Chinese sausage, fishcake, ham and veggies. The bamboo shoots added a crunchy texture which I love. Unlike other rice noodle soups we’ve had, this one isn’t overly salty and has that earthy homemade taste. We ordered a free extra bowl of rice noodles to add to the broth 20 minutes later and the soup was still steaming hot. We were already happy with the cauldron of soup when our Spicy & Sour Rice Noodle Soup with Beef and Enoki Mushroom arrived. This huge bowl of noodles topped with little bits of chopped hot peppers and jalapenos had us laughing at ourselves about how weak we are with spicy food while going back for more. The soup was spicy but still managed to be so flavourful. The fatty beef and enoki mushrooms gave it some good texture and meaty flavour. I’m definitely getting this next time but maybe with the “Less Spicy” option because I’m not 21 anymore with an iron stomach. Extra bonus things that we liked: friendly servers, unlimited rice noodles, clean environment and they have daily specials which I forgot to take a photo of which are significantly cheaper than the regular price. I’m glad to have another spot to add to our noodle shop rotation and look forward to coming back for some more noodz.

Decor: Nice and stylish (tho a little too bright in my opinion). Very clean, including the washroom (it's brand spanking new, it better be!) There are many seats and tables here, so getting a table shouldn't be too hard. Speaking of seats, I was a little distracted by the red benches we were sitting on alongside the walls. The whole bench is connected, so if one customer on the bench is shaking their leg.... you'll feel it. So if you are one of those people, please stop, or you'll get a lot of stare downs. Or, you can sit in the outside chair. Staff: Young but friendly and quite competent in their work. Food: Yummy, piping hot soup on a very cute calderon. I was pleasantly surprised that the restaurant gave me my meat raw (I hate overcooked food). There were Chinese sausages and even a piece of ham in the ingredients to add into your noodles. Oh, the noodles. It was very nice. Its rice noodle, but unlike ones I've ever had before. Very al dente (maybe a little too al dente for me). The cold water was a cute touch as well. They added lemon slices in it. Nice detail. The squid tentacles was a yummy! All in all, I would definitely come back to try other soups on the menu, but I will NOT be sitting on the red bench.

For a rainy Friday night dinner, the restaurant was busy but could seat quickly. Although slightly confusing with the 2 different names signage out front, it's clearly a singular wide-spread restaurant within. The new location is well-lit and with minimal dividing walls for space. Servers were inexperienced with minimal language skills, though ok as the menu was a check off list. The food was served fast, tidy and piping hot; hence the repeated warnings not to touch the bowls. The soup of the Oriental Rice Noodles with Mixed Mushrooms was flavorful and particularly nice without msg (as stated on the menu). Also quite flavorful was the Popcorn Chicken and their specialty Yang's Braised Chicken Rice with authentic spice; spicy enough to warrant the need for the bowl of rice. Though the thinly sliced Teppanyaki Beef Tongue was slightly too dry and chewy. Be careful that extras to the soup can quickly add up, but overall decent value for a dinner.

I found this place near Crystal Mall and always seemed to find this place to be busy. The menu consists of noodles and side dishes (eg. Popcorn chicken, squid tentacles and etc) in a reasonable price.

My sister and I booked our table for reservation on their iPad, but it seemed useless as none of the staff texted me for our table. Why using reso system when you don't use it? Interior and washrooms were clean. Staff were helpful even though they seemed very quiet.

The menu said noodle comes with 10 side dishes instead of toppings, it was more like toppings for hotpot /noodles while soup was boiling. I really liked my soup to be piping hot when it arrived my table. Coconut Curry noodle ($11.49) it had a similar taste of Tom Yum Koong and Laksa. I really liked the slight spiciness and milky flavour of coconut milk. Noodles were soft and chewy to my liking. Also, there is free refill on noodles.

Deep fried squid tentacles were crispy and yummy ($6.99). We couldn't stop eating squid tentacles. In the beginning, we only ordered 2 dishes then added Yang's Braised Chicken Rice ($9.99) onto our table, server forgot to bring that item. We had to remind the server to bring it and the female server apologized about the delay. Braised Chicken Rice was yummy. Chicken was nicely seasoned with soysauce and the meat was tender. The sauce was tasty when mixed with rice, YUM.

Couple tables ordered braised ribs and the pair of gloves came with the dish. I think it comes included to keep your hands clean. Booster chair is available for family with kids. Food had a right amount of saltiness we didn't feel too thirsty. I really liked the fountain station with free chocolates. I wonder if staff will monitor and check reservation system next time we go. cash and debit are accepted, NO credit card. No wifi is...

This is hands down my favorite restaurant in Burnaby! I’ve been coming here regularly, and every single time, the experience is nothing short of amazing. The food is absolutely delicious — especially their spicy and sour rice noodle with beef, which is by far the best I’ve ever had. The flavors are rich, perfectly balanced, and incredibly comforting. It’s become my go-to dish, and I honestly crave it all the time.

What really sets this place apart, though, is the exceptional service. The staff, especially the team working in the evenings, are truly outstanding. They are always so friendly, warm, and genuinely welcoming. From the moment I walk in, I feel like a valued guest. They always greet me with a smile and even call me by name — which makes the whole experience feel so personal and special.

You can really tell that the staff care about their customers and take pride in creating a positive, inviting atmosphere. Their attentiveness, kindness, and consistent professionalism make every visit feel like I’m being welcomed by old friends. It’s rare to find such genuine hospitality, and it’s one of the main reasons I keep coming back.

I can’t recommend this place enough. Amazing food, amazing people — a true...
