Astro's Kitchen — Restaurant in Burnaby

Can only comment on the Chinese food, and no idea on the rest, as I won't ever go back myself.

Client and I had the specials, curried fried rice and chicken chowmain, and we both walked out leaving 95% of our food there on the table.

It's the first time I can remember walking out and just leaving most of my food there.

The noodles were bland, tasteless, and I only had one fork full of it. The chicken were these small breaded things deep fried I believe, and not much taste at all.

My client only ate one spoon full of his meal when I noticed he didn't look too happy with it. I told him he didn't have to eat any more and I would take him somewhere else to eat, as I had suggested we try the place.

Ordered the Philly Sub and was pleasantly surprised - for the price I paid, the size was adequate and the taste was pretty decent. I wish the sub had a little more sauce to it, but it wasn't necessarily dry. The bread seemed to be buttered as well, so the overall meal was very satisfactory.

The actual restaurant is pretty quaint. I enjoyed the calm decor and atmosphere it offered. Service was good too; the lady running the cash and taking orders was very polite. Unlike other sit-in restaurants I have been to, it's more akin to a fast food restaurant where you order and pay at the counter and then they deliver your food to your table. This place awesome for Friday lunch at 12:30. No wait. Open and bright atmosphere A quick in and out for someone who has 30 minutes for lunch and works close-by.
