This is not my first visit to this restaurant. I used to come here almost once a week, but lately it's been less frequent. Anyway, today around 3pm, I was starving, so I thought I'd stop by for a bowl of my favorite rice noodles. When I came in, the door was open as usual, with no sign or message indicating that it was closed, and there was still a customer inside. I walked in and the lady who was responsible for placing the order didn't seem to be there, so I stood beside the cashier's desk waiting for someone to place my order. While I was looking at the menu, the chef, if I remember his position correctly, came out of the kitchen and waved his hand at me impatiently, like I was interrupting his nice break, said that "don't serve for lunch!". I was thrown out, and I felt embarrassed. When I got out, I checked the business hours on the door again and it clearly showed that they were still open.

I wouldn't mind if they had changed their business hours or were unable to provide service for other reasons. What I was very unhappy about was the chef's attitude, he could have said "sorry, we're closed now" or something more gentle instead of acting like I was bothering him and getting kicked out of the store! And that he pulled in a chair to block the door the next second I walked out!

I won't eat at this restaurant again, even though I used to really...

I've been coming to this restaurant for several years and it's literally one of the tastiest and most affordable restaurants ever. If you don't like one of their soup noodles, try something else.

I love their lemongrass chicken plates, their sandwiches, the chicken wings, the rice paper roles, and the dry noodles. They're all literally so good and good to share as well.

Yes it's cash only but it's literally so cheap. And for those complaining about tip being included in the bill, it's 10%. Literally all other restaurants these days charge 15% upward for tips and as someone who has been coming to this restaurants for years, when we try to give more than 10%, the owner literally rejects the extra so hopefully that gives you a glimpse of why there is tip added in the bill. The restaurant is literally trying to make sure the food is an affordable price without customers feeling pressured to give extra tips.

Don't let the negative reviews give a bad impression of this restaurant. It's literally one of the best hole in the wall restaurants that I can guarantee, you will find multiple items you like...

Worse pho I've ever had!!!! I found this place because reviews were great, I was looking forward to try this place.

  1. Pho - bean sprout, basil, lime, jalapeno, all in one bowl when it came, all were in the bottom. My mom had pho and it looked like the lime was already used. Son has pho as well, he didn't like bean sprouts and jalapeno in his bowl but had to no choice but to eat it. Since you can't really take out the bean sprout. I've never been to a Vietnamese restaurant like this.
  2. bun Bo hue - didn't taste like it at all and found hair in my soup .

Ambience is ok. Cleanliness is ok. I ordered number 25 Crab and tomato noodle. Rated 2 stars for 2 reasons: - False advertising. This is Chinese food, not Vietnamese food. The Chinese menu reads Northern Vietnamese crab and tomato noodles, which is bún riêu, but the dish tastes nothing like it. Key Ingredients were missing: herbs were missing, crab paste were missing (and replaced with crab sticks?), taste was off. The only ingredient they got right was the tomato, tofu, and the noodles. - Lack of fresh ingredients. As shown in the bowl below, only tomato and beansprouts were considered fresh. The rest of the ingredients were either processed or previously frozen (fish balls, frozen shrimp, fish fried in batter, squid balls, crab sticks, ham).

Yummy and a very unique broth and taste are present throughout the dishes provided. The sense that everything is made in house and done according to their own taste is prevelant from the minute the dishes land on your table. Pho has that homemade feel with different cuts and bits and amazingly delicious broth... I swear I could write a review on just the broth alone... Level good. Spring rolls are huge and have once again a we did it feel from the wrapping style and texture. Food is spicier then the average pho places, which gear towards the western tongue, but those who like flavor bombs and spice will be in heaven. Tldr:Summary Come for amazing broth, good in house made Vietnamese dishes and delicious food! Cash and debit only.

Small viet restaurant on the ground floor of Crystal Mall (near the main entrance sign). Interior looks a bit old and unkept, and the service is very minimal/curt. My takeout order: Bun Bo Hue (~$12-13): I am impressed that there was pork hock, as the number of restaurants that add it to their soups is dwindling. They used generic fish balls instead of beef balls which was a bit odd to me. Decent portion of Vietnamese ham and beef slices. Noodles were on the hard side, so I reheated it on the stove once I got home. Low/medium level of spiciness. Wouldn't be my go-to place, but it was a pretty decent bowl at a reasonable price overall.
