Sweethoney Dessert (Burnaby) — Restaurant in Burnaby

Wanted a close by dine in dessert spot after having dinner and settled for this location. They followed covid procedures with spaced out tables, temp checks and sanitizer.

Dessert wise Im not sure I would recommend. We ordered 6 items for dine-in and one for take out. Of the 6 items we ordered only the Mango pancake was worth the price. It was tasty without being overly sweet. The mangoes and cream paired perfectly with the thin pancakes and was everyone's favourite.

We also ordered Mango Pomelo Sago, Ginger tofu pudding, creme brulee, mango pomelo coconut and the Dog Icecream. The doggy icecream was just your basic icy chocolate icecream made in a dog mold. I will say its impressive how realistic it looks but definitely doesn't justify the price.

The mango pomelo sago was ok but a little watered down with a pinch of pomelo. The mango pomelo coconut was essentially the same dessert as the sago but served inside a coconut.

The ginger tofu pudding was awful. It literally came super watery. It wasn't a ginger syrup but straight ginger water. The creme brulee was also very watery and my friend said the only good part about the dessert was the burnt sugar 😬

Maybe it was an off day but I've been here one other time before and also noticed it was quite watery then but last night was pretty awful.

Hopefully they improve on their menu soon. Its a shame because their dessert selection is so vast.

We came on a Saturday night and it was pretty empty inside. We were the only table for a good 20 minutes. We ordered the coconut with milk pudding ($12.95), mango pomelo sago ($8.95) and mango taro ($8.95). The coconut with milk pudding was a total miss. There was barely any coconut flavour. The milk pudding for some reason tasted like egg. It has a lot of layers inside and is quite big but definitely not worth $12.95. The mango pomelo sago and the mango taro were pretty similar as it's the same base just with different toppings. The mango base was actually quite fragrant and had a lot of mango flavour. It wasn't overly sweet. There were also chunks of mango. The mango taro with the taro mochi balls was not as good as the mango pomelo sago as the taro mochi balls didn't really taste like taro. It tasted more like I was chewing on flour... Anyways, they have a really extensive menu so there's bound to be something you like on the menu. I would recommend it for groups as the space is nice and big but as for the desserts it's mediocre. Tip: free street...

We ordered a couple of the mango sago drink, but got it in the soup version. We were told it is the same but we don't agree. If the menu has a photo of it in a drink form AND in a soup form, the business should follow it. Don't tell us it's the exact same thing because it's not

The coconut sago, was very bland. Again, expected it in a drink form but got it in a soup form

We ordered two mango drinks with sea salt foam. One was alright, whereas the other one was extremely watered down. You can clearly tell by the colour difference.
