Always see a line at this establishment when I eat around the neighbourhood so finally decided to give it a try. Again, there was a line but the wait wasn’t too long, 10mins give or take. Ordered the Tonkotsu with regular broth and classic cha su. Also ordered a side of chicken karaage. The ramen came quick and looked great. The broth was thick and delicious. It wasn’t overly heavy/salty and tasted light but could also taste some of the intricate flavors. It also had a nice healthy serving of bean sprouts. The egg noodles were cooked to perfection. There was quite a bit of noodles too and I found myself running out of broth. It was served with 3 cha su was dark and looked dry. However, never judge a book by its cover (haha); the cha su was tender and quite flavorful. The chicken karaage was good but it was a bit of a let down. The pieces were small and was not piping hot when the order arrived. Loved that chicken was tender and juicy inside. It was served with a tiny side of lettuce w sauce and a sweet & spicy dipping sauce. That sauce really complimented the chicken. Nice thing though was that it was not thick with batter. The service was okay. Not brilliant or special. I went to the counter to pay and the server gave my my exact change. I asked her kindly to break the bill so I could tip and she hastily took the $20 and broke it. When I tried giving her the tip, she again hastily took the tip without a thank you or smile. On a side note, the broth spoon and chopsticks were extremely greasy. My girlfriend’s was the same.

This is a ramen place that tends to get very busy with line ups out the door. With good reason - the broth here is OUTSTANDING! For my order I got the Black garlic oil with charred chasu. You also get to specify if you want a regular or rich broth. For my order I got rich. Even with the rich option, it wasn't too overpowering - there was no garlicky or salty aftertaste that you get from some places. It eas just right. The noodles had a good bounce or chewiness to them that all the top ramen places do well. I also tried the tonkatsu broth and I think I might've liked that even more! There was a more pronounced pork flavor in the broth but again, not overpowering or salty. I felt like I could drink the bowl like a soup and feel refreshed, the taste was that clean. I'll definitely get that for my order next time. I also got the add-on chicken karaage to my order. I thought the add-on was just a smaller version of the appetizer chicken karaage but the waitress said no, they were actually the same portion size, it's just that the add-on option makes it much cheaper. I think the same was true for the agedashi tofu as well. Good to know if you normally get a few appetizers with your ramen. On top of all that the service was super-friendly and helpful. Wait time note: there was 4 of us on a Sunday afternoon, close to 1pm, and we only had to wait about 10 mins or less. But the time we left there was a more of a lineup.

This is one of my favorite ramen places to go to when I visit the Vancouver area (I’m originally from the US) but I did notice something was different this time. Last time I visited was in March 2023. My friend group only had to wait a few mins to get seated which was great considering it was a Friday night. I ordered the Chicken Shoyu ramen. The biggest difference that I noticed since my last visit was that the noodles tasted a bit different. Upon closer inspection it seems like they have switched noodle brands because the noodles used to be wavy and are now straight. I wasn’t a fan of these noodles and prefer the older ones, however I still like the firmness of the noodles. This was my first time ordering the chicken shoyu ramen (previously I always got the tonkotsu ramen which I highly recommend) and I think I should have stuck with my normal order because the broth was very oily and a bit too salty for my liking. I accidentally splashed some broth on my shirt and when cleaning it, had to run it through the washer 3 times to get the oil stain out. Anyway I still highly recommend this ramen shop and I will still return even with the noodle switch.

This has always been our go to ramen place and thought the ramen & the service were the best in town, more so than another competitor around the corner. Unfortunately, I’m leaving this 1 star rating based on an outrageous customer service by one of the staff today!

Mistakes always happen especially with take out orders. I’m always patient & understanding with restaurant staff because I get how stressful it can get. However, you don’t blame customers for the mistakes you make & then not even being apologetic about your own mistakes!!

1️⃣ Serena took my orders. We ordered the pork broth Chasiu ramen $13.50 but she took down just the pork broth ramen $ 11. I don’t care if she makes a mistake but she insisted the customer said the wrong item and it’s not her fault.

2️⃣ When she fixes the order and tries to adjust the price, she said the system wouldn’t allow this menu item. So it means she doesn’t know there is this option on the menu. Please don’t blame the customer for not knowing what they want to order when in fact you don’t even know what’s available on the menu.

3️⃣ Instead of charging us $13.50. She decided to just add on chasiu +$3. So each bowl of ramen is now $14 instead of $13.50 It is not a lot of money but pls don’t rip off customers. If you don’t know how to run the cash register pls ask a supervisor & not just randomly charge the customers.

4️⃣ We have also ordered extra noodles and extra soup on the side. When they have left out the soup, again, Serena blames it on the customer for not ordering.

I have visited this place many times and all the servers have been friendly, courteous & kind! I hope this staff will get some training on how to treat customers properly. At the end, customer service is equally as important as the food. If you treat your customers poorly, you will lose...
