I came here on September 28 around 6:30pm. We were the only customers around that time so we didn’t expect to wait long at all. Was a mistake to come since we were extremely disappointed.

The girl working around that time was incredibly rude and quite clearly did not want to be there. When we approached the cash register to place our orders, we saw the girl squatting on the floor and scrolling on her phone. She looked up at us but made no move to approach us to take our order. After waiting a couple of minutes in awkward silence, she finally decided to slowly walk towards the register, still scrolling and playing on her phone.

While taking the order, she maintained a very bored and disinterested tone. She obviously hates her job and just wants out. I don’t think she said more than THREE words in every sentence and we had to clarify multiple times about what we wanted to order since she wasn’t paying attention. Somehow she couldn’t understand that we wanted hot drinks. Not only could she not properly input our order POS system, she kept checking her phone while taking our order. I don’t know how this place trains their staff, but playing on your phone while interacting with a customer is completely unacceptable. I have never been this appalled by someone with such a bad attitude. If you don’t want to work there then find a different job.

On top of that, the drinks took incredibly long to make and by this point we have already waited 10+ minutes just to place our orders. I really wanted to like this place, but the drinks were not even filled to the top and mediocre at best. If you’re charging your customers almost $30 for three drinks (which were awfully small), at least have the decency to do the bare minimum by treating them...

I REALLY wanted to like this place, but unfortunately, everything was WAY too overpriced and overrated.

I had the matcha frappe and the dango (brown sugar and black sesame). The matcha frappe was around $9 and tasted like water and milk. I opted to pay the premium just because I thought I’d be getting a really strong and authentic matcha taste, but it tasted like nothing. The dango’s texture was like pearls you’d find in bubble tea and although the brown sugar and black sesame drizzle had good flavour, I can’t believe I paid almost $7 to eat something the size of a marble (trust me, you’ll be SHOCKED when you see how small it is). As for the service, I’m not sure if the employee is shy, etc., but when I ordered, she didn’t say a SINGLE WORD to me from the beginning to end of the interaction, and although I don’t really care too much, I just thought it was simply weird. To add, she was rushing me (even though there was only one person behind me that just got there) and immediately turned the machine around for me to pay. She didn’t even ask me something like, “would you like anything else?”… just turned the machine to me to pay.

Maybe the other stuff is good, but do NOT get what I ordered unless you want to donate money, and do not expect ANY type of...

We'd just gotten back from a trip to Japan, and were missing our Hojicha ice cream so I stopped by @tsujiri_bc in Metrotown and bought a Hojicha float for my daughter and I to share.

There was barely any liquid in the float. It was really more of a soft serve ice cream than a float. This hit the spot as the Hojicha ice cream is really what we were after. For some reason, the menu at Tsujiri doesn't offer an option of having Hojicha ice cream on its own. Only in a float.

Didn't quite match up to the Hojicha ice creams that we'd had in Japan but for a nearby option that was a short drive away, and not a plane ride away...I was happy with this!

Service: Good Parking: Plentiful and free Location: 4700 Kingsway...

Had the Yuzu Citron Parfait (with Houjicha) and a friend had the Shiratama Parfait (with Houjicha). Enjoyed the roasted green tea flavour of the soft serve! Nice contrasting textures in the parfait and refreshing on a summer day. With my parfait, it was supposed to include a sakura monaka. However, I just received a regular monaka wafer instead. I'm not sure if the sakura was only seasonal, but it would've been nice if the staff mentioned the substitution given the change to what's in the menu description! Price point is a tad high at around $11.25, but Tsujiri does use high quality ingredients with their matcha and Japanese green tea. Unfortunately, no seating in the small location, but the wait was short for our order.
