What can I say to start off with? Totally disappointed. Three of us went for dinner came in at 5:05. We were the only ones in the restaurant. Shouldn't have known that is a sign was there about 10 years ago. Placed was packed. Greek music playing excellent. Walked in and they only were just kind of turning on some lights. The waitress Young girl had an attitude of a tuna fish. Not engaging, not smiling. You have to remember the prices here aren't cheap. They're running $30 to $40 I don't think she's ever waitressed before so we ordered three beers. There's three of us there. She came to the table. Couldn't remember who ordered what beer. Actually only two of us ordered beer one order to Coke so we thought we were for rude awakening. We should have just asked for the bill and after that point but we hasn't really ordered the food I ordered lamb. My partner ordered calamari and our friend ordered chicken souvlaki On the menu it had been changed so many times with white out of the prices and on the menu it said meals do not include Greek salad and pita bread. I don't know how many Greek restaurants and I've been to bit never seen that put on a menu, especially when you're paying $30 to $40. Needless to say, we got our food. Totally disappointed the potatoes. I don't know how they could even put potato cubes that small on your plate. Greek potatoes usually oven roasted lemon baked potatoes. These things were dried out. Oven roasted. No flavor. The rice was horrible. My partners calamari look like the calamari bee just dipped in flour and our friend souvlake for $29. Needless to say our bill was $130 and it was absolutely just a horrible horrible meal. Never go there again and do not waste your money. Don't go there and the owner you're right. He was at the front. There looked miserable as hell didn't greet any customers didn't say anything. It's not the restaurant it used to be. Don't waste your money. Better off to go to uncle Willie's at the mall Better off to go to uncle Willie's at the mall we should have read the reviews before because we're finding out that seems to be the feeling of everybody. The owner was there scowl on his face. Didn't greet us at all. Didn't say hello. Didn't acknowledge us. Two other people came in the restaurant and they left before we finished our meal. Another two people came in left. The parking lot was empty so it's a has been place

Rating: ⭐ (0.5/5) I visited Vassilis Souvlaki Greek Taverna on Kingsway, Burnaby, with my friends, and it was a complete disappointment. We ordered Greek salad, chicken souvlaki, pita with hummus, and coffee. The Greek salad was one of the worst I’ve ever had. The cucumber and tomato pieces were ridiculously large—way too big to eat comfortably. A salad should be cut into bite-sized portions, but this was just lazily thrown together. The taste? Nonexistent. 0.5/5 for that. The chicken souvlaki dish was just as bad. The lamb (which I assume was part of the dish) was completely tasteless. My friend could only eat a little bit of rice and left the rest untouched. Honestly, I have no idea how this place is still running. Another 0.5/5 for that. The coffee was okay—nothing special, but at least drinkable. 3/5 for that. The ambience was the only somewhat redeeming factor. It had a nice feel, and I’d give it a 4/5. But the service? Absolutely horrible. The server looked like she was either drunk or under the influence of something. She barely greeted us, didn’t seem to understand anything we said, and made the entire experience uncomfortable. It felt completely inhospitable. To top it all off, the food was overpriced for the quality we received. A complete waste of money. Overall rating: 0.5/5 – would never return or recommend.

We went there for food, but they only served their attitude!

My friend Seth suggested this restaurant for dining out before our Sunday evening movie: although we are not exactly their regulars, but 3 out of the 4 of us went there quite a few times before.

Due to his hunger Seth ordered roast lamb with a couple of appetizers, and asked the young waitress who has no smile to bring it out first while the others are still trying to decide their orders. Then she brought another big table right next to us which makes it quite crowded. So we asked her if it's possible for us to switch to another table nearby with more space: we can move our water glasses ourselves. She refused, because the other table is bigger; so we asked to switch to another table with the same size but just not as squeezy as the current one. She refused again, murmuring something like they could be quite busy later on.

Not want to make a fuzz we stayed at the table and ordered another roast lamb and a lamb shank. 10 minutes later she came back and told us it would take an hour to cook the roast lamb and we have to choose something else. We decided to switch the roast lamb to rack of lamb instead and kept the lamb shank.

5 minutes later she came back again and stated that rack of lamb takes same amount of time (1 hour) to cook, but lamb shank would be available immediately. By then there were only 8 other customers in the restaurant, so we were quite surprised that their kitchen didn't prepare enough of the most popular dish before their open time.

After discussion we were quite disappointed and decided to go to another restaurant close by. Obviously she told the boss this unpleasant consequence, so this old gentlemen came to us and said: "We served you water, but you are leaving?" I had to explain to him that the 2 dishes we ordered were not available, and the waitress didn't tell us at the beginning. He shrugged and said: "Oh she didn't know." So I said: "Look, we came here for food not water, we planned a happy dinner but now we're hungry and disappointed..."

My other friend Jenny worried that I might pay them for the water because of the pressure the boss gave me, so she said: "Come on, it's not our fault to leave your restaurant, actually you should apologize for the poor service."

That made the Greek boss quite upset and he started to yell, claiming that he had nothing to apologize for, and even asked his God to "bless" us when we left.

I'm not sure about you, but I would never go back to this arrogant business with poor...

My daughter and her friends went for dinner tonight and all of their plates came to them frozen cold. My daughter and her friends complained to the waitress and she did nothing about it and charged for the full price of the meal even though the kids didn't eat it. I telephoned them to discuss the service and the manager and the waitress told me if I didn't stop calling they would call the police. I only called once. They were mixing me up with another customer that was complaining about a high chair. I was calling about a separate complaint and they put me on speaker and told me that I was setting them up. I could hear their conversation. I tried calling them back to explain that my complaint had nothing to do with a high chair but the phone was busy ongoing and I could not get through. Unbelievable, first, threatening to call the police when I just simply phoned to talk to the manager to talk about how my daughter and her friends were treated. Never go to this place. Poor, poor, poor customer service and they served frozen food, not fresh. How this place is still in business is shocking. Try another Greek place. Absolutely disgusting how we were treated. PS I fnally got through and spoke to the manager again and he told me to f** off and not to call again. I tried to explain why I was calling and he didn't want to know. He was very angry and so was the waitress that answered the phone. I strongly believe that they had a lot of complaints tonight and people were calling to complain and how they handled it was by swearing and threatening to call the police instead of listening to the customer. Pease do not go here. There are so many wonderful Greek restaurants in Burnaby. Go to another restaurant. Horrible service and cold,...
