Double 8 Sushi — Restaurant in Côte Saint-Luc

I've been going to this place since it's opened, and I will be really honest here. The sushi here are my family's favourite sushis for a very long time simply because they are always at the very least very good, and on good times, they are some of th best sushi's you can have in the city. Or at the very least in the CDN/NDG area. The reason why I mention the comparison, is because, at times, I've had good, tasty sushis from them, but the fish was clearly not fresh and maybe sat in some marinate for a day or 2 longer to stay preserved. Last time I've had this happen was about 4 months ago, but since then , the fish quality in the rolls was superb -- very fresh and pleasant. This is my only bone to pick with this place. Otherwise, the way they make their rolls is incredibly consistent, and with the right proportions of all of the ingredients, and they don't go cheap on the fish either. The lady owner is self trained sushi chef (but don't quote me on this), and her sushis have really come a long way and it shows. I would try the mini kamikazis (8 pieces), their spicy salmon large ones (5 pieces), their salmon transparant paper ones (forgot the name buit they have 6 pieces). Try that if you are curious, just as a base, and then you will get a sense of why this place is good, eventually you will find exactly what suits you best! All rhe maki rolls were bursting with main ingredients , super fresh and perfectly rolled.

Nice to see this as most maki rolls have too much rice and all taste the same .

HORRIBLE SERVICE. The lady answering the phone has no manners. She yells at you and expects you to understand her better the more she yells.
