The single worst service my family and I have EVER had. Today, Oct. 10, 2016, we were going through the drive-thru at approximately 5:30 pm. We had been driving for six hours, and our two year old daughter was scream-crying from hunger and fatigue, so my wife decided to take her out of the car. In the process, my wife accidentally hit our car door on the post. As I then proceeded up to the window, I had a pained, exhausted look on my face and was shaking my head. As it result, it came to a shock to me when, upon rolling down my window, the first words I heard from the young, blond woman at the drive-thru counter were, "You had better not be giving us that attitude." "Excuse me?" I replied, "I'm not giving you any attitude." "Then don't take that tone with me; I don't deserve it." "I'm not giving you any tone. This has nothing to do with you." "I don't care if it has nothing to do with me, you don't have the right to talk to me like this." "Can I just get my order?" I said, and gave her my money. "No, I don't have to serve you if you are going to take that attitude. Apologize or I won't serve you." At this point, I took back my money, said something quite rude, to which she responded in kind, and I drove off. The above dialogue was a para-phrase of the essential conversation to the best of my memory, given my emotions and the two hours since the verbal altercation occurred. After I drove away from the drive-thru window, I located my wife and two year old, who were around the corner. When I told them what happened, my already emotional daughter had a meltdown which lasted until Kamloops. I should point out that, after my initial incident, my wife did walk into the restaurant with our distraught child and did mention to the same young woman that she might need to be a bit more aware of other peoples' circumstances. According to my wife, the same Cache Creek A&W employee showed no remorse or empathy for her incredibly rude and ignorant behaviour. I If I could give that particular restaurant a minus five rating, I would. NEVER GO...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI thought I should share my recent visit as my boyfriend and I found it quite odd. We don't do fastfood often, but when we do, its always a&w!
We came into the cache creek location between 9-10am. My boyfriend ordered 2 bacon and eggers and 1 mushroom mozza melt (which displays only mozza and mushrooms) with a coffee to drink. She seemed confused already as I heard my boyfriend reiterate the order and when it arrived he thought we should double check before we left. He discovered one had sausage as well as the mushroom melt, he asked to have it changed as he doesn't eat sausage. She wasn't too happy about it, but after apologised and said she hit the wrong button. As I grabbed my bacon and egger, I then realized it was the same issue. I looked at the other, and realized they were all mushroom melts, but with added bacon or sausage. I waitressed for many years and hate to be a pain, but I really detest mushrooms, and thought it shouldn't be an issue to correct. I was very wrong! She was very defensive when I told her they actually all had mushrooms and mozza, and she said "Well thats what you ordered!" I looked at my boyfriend stunned, knowing he didn't order that and just said "oh no, it was suppose to be 2 bacon and eggers and just 1 mushroom melt." She said "well thats how they come! They all come with mushrooms!" Almost as if I asked for an imaginary menu item... My boyfriend interjected and said "oh so all bacon and eggers now come with mushrooms and mozza?" She said "Yup thats how they come!" I looked at him and just chuckled and told her it was ok, and began to walk away, as she began to complain about us to a customer saying thats what we ordered. I have no idea why it was so confusing, and the bill was much larger than usual, so Im guessing she punched in three mushroom melts and added bacon and sausage.
I hope the employee gets better training on the til, perhaps on the menu as well in case someone...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreReally disappointed in the service when I asked for a tomato and lettuce on my breakfast sandwich. They repeated it back to me twice and yet my order wasn't done correctly. I understand mistakes happen, but the coffee monstrosity this morning was terrible. For $5 I expect something of quality and what I ordered. I ordered a chocolate cold brew and what I got tasted like watered down coffee with no cream or flavoring. Perhaps the staff don't understand how to make the orders and need better training given to them. Really disappointed as I had a cold drink there earlier in the week in the afternoon and it was great, so I had those expectations. Paying $14 for things you didn't order is a bit displeasing. I would have loved to have had it corrected but there were others in line and I had to...
