Subway — Restaurant in Cache Creek

Original trip date: June 24/ 2018 ~5:05pm This is belated review from our summer trip to B.C.

We were returning back to Calgary from our trip to B.C. (Victoria, nanaimo, kelowna etc). Ordered 3 1/2 foot subs and 1 foot long sub. There was a sign that a/c was out of order and door was open; since we were just passing by we cant tell if that was a deliberate thing or actually not working , perhaps regular customers can answer that.

The subs were not wrapped properly like they are typically. A young guy (possibly a student, skinny) prepared our subs and that was fine, however the sandwiches felt soggy, perhaps from the high temperature due to no a/c. was just average, nothing fresh about it.

There was a woman named Daljit working in the background behind the counter and the young guy was talking the orders.

I took the subs to the table and then realized that we only got 2 small tissue papers for 4 subs (3 of them 6 inches and 1 was foot long) so went back to counter that the guy was busy talking other peoples orders and i went to Daljit on the side and asked her for more napkins and explained to her that we have 4 subs and these 2 napkins are not enough for all of them please. She immediately made a resentful face and 2 passed 2 napkins over to me while looking the other way completely as if i have a asked for a free sub.

This is completely unacceptable behaviour specially coming from a manager / owner. We can tolerate other things ex: sandwiches not good , a/c not working but this attitude is a deal-breaker as we are paying customers and spending close to 40$ total with the pop included, so we expect better. Why being so stingy in giving napkins to customers? we didn’t even ask for extra , just what was enough for 4 adults.

Not a very good impression this subway has made, specially its manager. Still looking for original receipt but post bank statement to show proof of purchase.

Ratings: Quality/ freshness of sandwich: * presentation of sub: ** (not wrapped properly without the paper) attitude of manager daljit: ZERO stars attitude of sandwich maker: * and half (3 and half stars) cleanliness: ** freshness of ingredients: ** and half ( 2 and half) was soggy, not sure if due to no A/C etc.

Update: Oct 15 2018(date of this post) On Oct 11, 2018 i was contacted by the branch owner i am assuming informing me that DALJIT the rude manager has been let go and have promised to make up for it on our next visit. We were just visiting so not likely it will happen soon but we are happy with the owners response and apologized on behalf of the rude employee.It wasn't specified if she was let go based on this complain or prior to that.

We will definitely go back again and give this location another...

I have been to this location here and there over the years because as others have stated they are very cheap with the ingredients, so wasn’t going to review until today. We had a trainee that seemed new to English as a second language so were understandably patient. Ordered a kids pack, and two foot longs (pizza sub and turkey breast with ham.) I had asked for a little bit of salt at the end. The kids pack didn’t come with the juice box or water and the snack it is supposed to come with, and when we asked for it we tried to explain it for about 7 minutes before leaving without it because the trainee argued with us. Upon taking a bite of mine, it was covered in pepper so I took another bite to see if I could suffer and eat it. I couldn’t and my son wouldn’t have been able to eat it either. When we returned for a refund the owner? Came over from the hotel and argued that because two bites were taken out of my sandwich they weren’t going to give a refund. She then proceeded to tell my partner that I should have been watching the guy make the sandwich and see the pepper being poured on it. As someone who grew up around this area, it saddens me that a trainee was left by themselves without help (when it came to the kids pack) And then the owner arguing a simple refund.

Personally our family will never return to...

Stopped at Subway in Cache Creek) on my way back south, the worst experience getting a sandwich. Asked for veggie 6" on flat bread lightly toasted.First she toasted it to the max time, by the time I got it, it was starting to harden, still tried eating it but it got to a point where I couldn't even bite into it. I took it back to her and explain why, she said "no I toasted lightly like I had asked" after this back and forth I asked just don't toasted it just give me the new sandwich untoasted. She was not happy so she grabbed another flat bread and proceeded to scrap the veggies from the old sandwich onto the new one. (Scrape cuz the other one has cheese on it and the veggies are stuck on there).I told her not to do that cuz I was getting sick watching her do this and can't she put new veggies on, she said no so I just said forget it and turned around and came back and sat with the people I was with. She made no attempt to come over apologize and rectify the situation. Will never ever (or my family) go back there again. I know i am just one in hundreds of people that stop there and it doesn't effect her in any way. It did effect me as I paid there for food and then go to another place to get new food...
