Aida's has been a family favourite of ours for years and being of Lebanese heritage I appreciate the authenticity of flavours and fresh ingredients.
We had the Veggie Platter ($45) with a side of Kibby ($12?) along with Arabic Coffee and their Iced Tea & Lemonade and everything was delicious and delighftul. What we ordered fed 3 of us comfortably for lunch and the Roobek (phyllo with feta & olives), Grape Leaves and Baba Ghanouj were absolutely great. For dessert we ordered the Burma to share which is the pistachio phylo nest and while it was tasty I'm not sure I'd order it again as it was a little tricky to eat and I like some of their other desserts more - worth a try if you like pistachios as there was a generous amount in it!
The atmosphere is quiet and clean with a decent amount of space and a beautiful large window to look out at 4th St. I highly recommend Aida's and believe it's a great local restaurant that Calgarians should cherish and support. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and efficient and I appreciate that Aida herself can most often be found at the restaurant chatting with guests.

Read moreWhat a wonderful lunch! This is one of my favorite places. The one dip i am so addicted to is their Mouhammara, it the most amazimg dip i have ever had. I always order one to eat there and take three home. I normally order grape leaves as well and a original Mezza platter served with grape leaves, falafel, baba ghannouj, hummus, kibby, fatayer, sfeeha, labneh. Great for 2-3 people. The grape leaves are served warm and just the right spices and lemon, their falafel are wonderful with a great not to dry and crumbly. The only thing i would of liked more would be the hummus. I felt lacking. It had a weak tahini taste. I loved the baba cause it was not as smoky as other places. It was perfectly spiced as well. They give you plenty of pita breads for dipping and a lot of food for the price. A great place to go for a romantic date or just hang out with friends, cozy and quiet and has a wonderful...
Read moreTerrible service. Went here for lunch with coworkers. Had to wait 40 minutes for our food (dip and sandwiches). They could have brought the dip out first but brought it with all the other food. They mixed up my sandwich and my friends sandwich and when we noticed and brought to their attention they gave my friend a hard time for not noticing right away. My friend and I swapped one half of our sandwhichs because I didn’t want to wait 40 minutes for another sandwich. They quickly brought me out the correct sandwich but took away the wrong sandwich that I had swapped with my friend so he never got the right sandwich. Such a mixup.
The food was really good. But over priced. An extra $8 to add 4 potato wedges and a side salad to my $14 sandwich?
Will not be coming here again on a lunch break due to the poor service and long wait (was late returning to work). If I eat here again I will...
