The pride of Calgary & the best Filipino dishes we've had in a long time! Thank you Lee, AteV, Jek and crew, and dear friend V for the recommendation.

Round1 - After arrival at YYC, we drove straight to Bo Fiesta and had kare2, tulingan gata in banana leaves, menudo and lumpiang Shanghai - all 5*s - freshly cooked as you order. Of course with rice (lol), these are not salty nor greasy, the plating and presentation on point, and decent pricing. We had a non-Filipino in our group and she loved all esp the menudo.

The Hospitable and very nice owners Lee ( with sister AteVilma) have us try the superb very tasty and crunchy Krispy Pata (their best seller) pancit bihon-mike, veg lumpia with ubod, capped with desserts halo-halo and turon with langka (jackfruit) and sorbetes. Ooohh la la!

We were a party of 4, and all gave rave reviews and 5**; it was hard to pick one fave dish. All the dishes we tried are now favorites esp with the generous serving portions and decent pricing.

BF as our first stop from YYC airport on a first time visit to Calgary didn't disappoint.

We stayed for couple of days did our touristic rounds of Jasper, Banff, the Lakes & Calgary. Time to fly back to the US, and had to make another stop at BF en route to YYC. Lol can't get enough.

This 2nd round, we had bangus sisig, pork sisig, palabok, fried and garlic rice. The dessert is the decadent Bilo bilo with ube halaya! Freshly made, all the ingredients are prepared in their own kitchen. Like the halo2, they make their own pang "mix", ie no store-bought OTC sweets laden with syrup.

We love the tulingan gata sardines type (you can eat the bones) so much we ordered to go! Frozen and nicely packed leak proof (checked-in inside our suitcase ), it sailed thru the US customs with no hitch.

The nice Filipiniana decor and ambiance, with karaoke nite on Friday and live band on Saturday is a treat. Love love your healthy live plants!!!

Highly recommend!!!

Thank you again Lee & AteV, the friendly and attentive Jek our server, your amazing crew esp the Chef of 22 yrs at BF. The BF Chef is from Pampanga, the culinary capital of decadent and native Filipino cuisine. Until our...

My family was very excited to go to Barrio Fiesta... after sitting, my wife had to go and get a server after 15 mins. being unattended. After 43 mins. we got soup for my wife... after 1 hr. and 2 mins. we got my son's food (very cold by the way), and we got 6 chicken wings (we asked for Salt and Pepper chicken wings, but we got it instead SALTY and NO PEPPER and the PRICE: $12.99 ???).. after 1 hour and 15 mins. of being sat at the table, I got my food (just warm)... did I mention we had 2 servers??? When we were done, one of the servers came and IN LESS THAN A MIN. SHE HAD CLEANED UP THE TABLE and in less than 2 mins. we had a third person (a tall lady) without any manners giving us our bill. --- I have nothing against tips, but after this experience I wasn't in the mood to give any tips... I assume the server noticed no tips were left, so she exclaimed loudly: Oh My God !!! and left abruptly. --- I never had any poor experience like this one before and I hope I never have one neither. I just wanted to leave this place after being sat for over 1 hour and seeing my family so disappointed !!! We have decided not to ever go back again to Barrio Fiesta. WHAT AN AWEFUL EXPERIENCE !!! NEVER AGAIN !!! ... by the way, my...

The first time I went here it was awesome! Went back again and was disappointed. While the food was good the service was very slow. To be fair it was busy, I went on a Saturday night, when there is live music. The slow service wouldn't have bothered me but at the end when the server brought the check, she didn't ask if me and the person I was there with wanted to split it and then refused to go back and reprint the checks with our respective orders. On top of that, I had ordered a virgin pina colada and got charged for a tequila sunrise (a dollar more) and obviously a drink with alcohol in it. When I brought this up, the server lied and said they're changing the menu prices, and so I was charged the new price... You don't charge someone differently than the menu you handed them to order from. Not impressed and not sure I will go back. I will say the arroz caldo was delicious, but I don't like when people lie. Be warned they add 18% gratuity automatically...

This was our first experience with authentic Filipino food. We liked the decor and the spaciousness of the restaurant. They mistook us for being Filipino and we didn't realize until later that they were speaking Tagalog to us. Ordered the Adobo Chicken, Kare Kare, and for dessert, Halo Halo. Overall everything tasted good. The Adobo was a little saltier than we've had in the past but the chicken was very tender. Having a Thai chili in the Adobo Chicken was nice so that we could make it a little spicy. The Kare Kare was a little cool but had a nice strong peanut taste and the Sambal was strong. The pork and pork fat were delicious. The Halo Halo was nice and sweet and they gave us a bowl to mix it in since I was doing a terrible job in the plastic cup. Overall a good meal in a nice setting.
