TLDR: Manager is a classic corporate leaner that likes to intimidate his employees, because it makes him feel special. FLIES! I felt like I spent half the visit defending my food from flies. Waitress was doing her best to do everything which meant tables went neglected because she had too many duties, which was not her fault. Extended version: (a small novelette) -The "Manager": or who I presumed was the manager. A man who is middle aged (late 50's?) mostly grey hair with a bit of a sandy colour mixed in, wearing a pressed grey suit. He either stood around, leaned on counters and walls, or Sat at a table drinking his Ice tea watching his staff with that smug crooked smile, that drips with self importance. At times he was even in the way of staff, while they hustled through dinner rush (6:30 -7:30). As a guest he even made me feel uncomfortable, so I couldn't imagine how staff were feeling around him. Though if they did feel uncomfortable, they all had a good poker face. -The Server: At first I was hesitant to want to call her a good server, as our table did go neglected at times, but as the time drew on that we were there, some things became evidently clear, that would not make her neglect of a guest her fault. She had us (a table of 2) but she also had a couple of there family sized tables, AND a large reservation looking table of what looked like 8 people. Not only was she serving everyone but she was also the one clearing and cleaning down the tables for the next sets of guests coming in. Later we noted she was also on the Bar side with a tray, so she could have even had tables over there. This is a note to management: this is unacceptable, because of management's poor planning they made the server appear neglectful to the guest. You either provide a good customer service experience, or you think about your bottom line, and make your staff suffer. Come cash out time, because our server was being run off her feet with all these duties, we made our own way up to the front. She was very polite, and looked a bit nervous at that time because this "Manager" was leaning on the check out counter while we were checking out. For all the stress she must have been under, we think she did good, and did what she could. -The Flies: I managed to kill one, but there were 3 more in its place right away to replace the one I killed. They seemed to be everywhere! I watched as other guests flailed their arms to shoo the flies away from their meals and drinks, just as my husband and I did the whole time. The second the food hit the booth 2 flies were right there trying to land on it. Though the front of house looked clean, I worry about the cleanliness of the kitchen/ back of house. With as many flies as I saw they are definitely breeding in the restaurant, and where would they have to breed, lay eggs, hatch and be fed as larvae and then become the flie?! The whole life process happen some where in the restaurant makes me want to hurl.
Over all the manager seems like a bad manager and with him being if the generation of "roll up your sleeves and put in the work" I didn't see a whole lot of that coming from him. He could have at least help clear the table of that large party so the server could actually check on the guests that were still there dining, or better yet, hire a runner of sorts to clear tables for the servers... And they definitely need to do something about...
Read moreI’ve been here a few times and the food is always good and the service is not great most of the time. Really hit and miss on that. I don’t know if they are short staffed or just forgetful but my family has paid for our drinks and walked out before getting food because it took so long or was forgotten about about a year ago. We didn’t come back for a long time after that experience here. I had another couple visits with just me and my kids a couple months ago that went better. Then we tried again last week and it was just total chaos and our appetizer and drink re-orders were forgotten about, then when we finally got a chance to say so they were made twice but instead of giving the second one they made by accident after all the bad service and we said we would happily keep it they took it back to the bar anyway. We got our food by the time we realized the appetizer was forgotten so we just cancelled it. Keeping the accidentally twice made drink that was probably going to be dumped anyway may have made up for that a little but alas, they did not leave that for us. The Italian honey drizzle pizza was awesome. I wish I took a picture. So so good. One of my new favourite pizzas. My kids always like the cotton candy drinks. We will probably not try this location again for a while. Maybe it will get better. They need to get it together a bit. It wasn’t the best experience any time so far. Everyone working seemed stressed out, not a relaxing environment. Don’t forget about your customers when you get a new or bigger table. Smaller tables matter too. Everyone should use a notepad. Might stop all the stuff being forgot about lol. Also I watched the hostess clean the table but it was not properly cleaned when we sat down and I had to brush crumbs off it. This past time the service got better near the end. Maybe as the rush dies down or their big table finished up. But it should be staying consistent. I was glad we got the end of meals finished off with better...
Read morepersonally, I enjoy attending a Boston Pizza restaurant, but my service yesterday was not great and the food did not taste as up to par as used to. I usually enjoy the Thai chicken wrap with a side of mashed potatoes. the Thai chicken didn't even taste cooked. I had asked for crispy chicken and not grilled and it came out grilled. I went up to my server and I asked him if he could go and take it back and he said he was unable to because they would make him pay out of his pocket. I have never heard a restaurant making their employees pay for something the kitchen has messed up on as well as the fact that multiple of the orders in my group were failed to be put in by our server. I understand that there was a few people in our party, but it didn't feel right to me that the food did not taste great. the cheese on the sandwiches other people had gotten didn't even melt and we had asked for no bacon on anything as most of us are allergic but he had forgotten and came back to us saying it would be another 10 minutes for multiple people's meals because they had put bacon on them. it's quite upsetting that a family restaurant that we used to enjoy so much has gone so downhill so fast in the last 3 years. adding on to that one of the meals that we had ordered had been failed to be put in and as everyone else was eating he was still waiting for his meal 30 minutes into it. we also had ordered earlier to have our meals at...
