Pretty disappointed. I was really hyped to try this place and figured I’d support them before things shut down. The service was weird in that the guy seemed to selectively listen and respond to only half of what I told him. Other times he’d just completely turn his back and ignore me. Everything I ordered got put into some microwave to heat up, the same microwave used to heat everything else the customers before and after me ordered so not very hygienic (the front door propped open should’ve tipped me off). No meat on the spits—everything was packaged under the counter and microwaved to order. So it wasn’t fresh and who knows how long it was in the danger zone before I ordered it. The spinach and feta fatayer was cold in the middle despite it being heated in the microwave. The chicken platter was pretty tasty, I can’t lie. Kinda strange a bakery doesn’t bake their own pita but I can live with it. But something I ate gave me explosive p**ps for two days. Just getting over it now and still don’t feel 100%. I’ll give it another try and update this review if anything changes but I’m hesitant because of the blatant...
Read moreBeirut Bakery & Restaurant is a fantastic spot in Shaganappi Plaza! The place is spotless, and the service is outstanding. The staff is always friendly, polite, and welcoming—they even remember my family whenever we visit, which makes the experience feel extra special.
As soon as you walk in, they offer samples, and everything is freshly made from scratch. You can find a great selection of products to prepare meals at home, along with delicious sweets. Whether you choose to sit and enjoy your food or take it to go, the atmosphere is warm and inviting.
Another plus is the convenient parking—it's free if you park right in front of the bakery, but be mindful that other spots in the plaza may require payment. If you're using public transportation, it's just a block away from Westbrook Station, and there’s a bus stop right in front of the bakery (though I’m not sure of the route number).
Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for authentic, high-quality food and...
Read moreI have been a customer of Beirut Bakery for the last 9 years. Mahmoud (the owner) is a very kind hearted and genuine person. He is vey welcoming, hardworking, honest, and provides excellent customer service.
An example comes to mind; it happened last month, when I passed by his store (it was his day off) but he was at the store cleaning and preparing for the next business day. The "Open" sign was turned off but the door was open, so I walked in and ordered 2 sandwiches (I forgot it was his day off and assumed that he forgot to turn the sign on) while he was preparing my order, 2 more customers walked in and placed their orders.
He did our orders with a big smile and didn't even say that he was closed until we asked him why the "Open" sign was off.
Thank you Mahmoud for your great food, service...
