Chicago Deep Dish Pizza - Calgary's Original — Restaurant in Calgary

I’ve ordered from this location multiple times with no issues but tonight I received some very disappointing service.

I placed an order for delivery at 11PM and was quoted 45-50 minutes for the delivery, which is a standard delivery time and not an issue.

However, by 12:30 I still had not received my pizza. I’d called the restaurant twice to ask when my order would arrive, and was told on the phone the driver is outside my house and to come outside.

I step onto my front steps and there is no driver in sight, so I ask them to cancel my order.

10 minutes later I get a call from the driver asking me to confirm my address, to which I again state I’d like to cancel my order due to the wait time. To which the call disconnects.

By this point Ive gone and picked up dinner elsewhere when I receive a call from the restaurant apologizing for the issues, and that the driver input my address incorrectly. As a sign of good faith they offer to deliver my pizza free of charge, which I appreciated. However, I’m now inside my home and open up this monstrosity which truly is the icing on the cake of an incredibly poor experience.

I would have rather them not deliver anything than what is sitting on my kitchen counter currently.

I’d like to think this was a one off situation but it was a poor enough experience to warrant me never willingly spending my money on their pizzas again.

Again, I appreciate the offer to give me my order for free, but the state this pizza is in is incredibly...

This is the second time we have ordered from here. Today I ordered for pick up through door dash and I had written special instructions but had not communicated correctly. The owner called me to make sure that what I had requested was correct , as I had ordered a meat pizza and had written instructions of no meat instead of no beef. I am so grateful that he called me , I ended up with the correct order and delicious pizza. Both times we’ve ordered our 2 large pizzas they have been fresh and delicious. The owner is also very nice and you can tell he cares about you and the food they make make. We always order from here whenever we’re craving pizza! The large pizza with beef, mushroom, chicken, and peppers, topped with extra sauce, is our go-to choice. It’s always delicious, with a great balance of flavors and just the right amount of sauce.

The free pops included with each order are a nice touch, with different kinds to choose from each time. The staff is consistently friendly, and the pricing is very reasonable. Depending on how busy they are, our order is ready within 20-35 minutes, which is pretty convenient.
