Thank you for responding, but unfortunately, your reply is full of inaccuracies and misleading statements. Allow me to clarify the situation point-by-point:
"But the time you came, it was around 11:45." → This is completely false. We arrived exactly at 11:30 PM, and we have the call log to prove that we called you at 11:37 PM, only after standing outside knocking on your locked door for several minutes. Please check your own security footage and phone records to verify the timeline.
"We were doing our closing duties. Oven was put on rest." → If your posted hours say open till 12:00 AM, how can you shut down the oven before 11:30 PM? That’s not “closing duties” — that’s closing early, plain and simple. If you intend to stop serving by 11:30 PM, then clearly communicate that in your official hours.
"Door wasn't locked. It just stuck!! you were applying force on the alternate one, which remains closed all the time." → Again, it's not true. We tried both sides of the door multiple times. The staff saw us clearly, and instead of opening the door or guiding us, he turned away and ignored us until we called. This is a basic lack of courtesy, not a misunderstanding about which side of the door opens.
"It wasn't rude but surprised with the visit at closing hours." → It was 11:30 PM, not closing time. Being "surprised" is no excuse for showing blatant disinterest and rudeness toward paying customers who came during your official business hours.
"We served you even though everything was shut down, but we never said no to you." → No one’s asking for a favor. We came at a time when your store was supposed to be open, and being reluctantly served with a bad attitude is not the same as good customer service. You don’t get credit for doing the bare minimum after ignoring customers at the door.
"Ketchup’s not in the menu... we gave you 3 sachets, then 2 more." → That’s exactly our point — your attitude was stingy and unwelcoming over basic condiments that are provided freely at many other Cosmic branches. And your staff’s tone while handing them over was, again, rude and dismissive.
"We offered dipping sauces... you were not interested in buying." → Why would we pay extra for sauces when even basic hospitality wasn’t offered? Your staff made zero effort to engage us positively or offer alternatives politely.
"You stayed after closing hours and enjoyed your meal undisturbed." → Yes, we stayed because we had driven in from another city and were tired and hungry. But “not disturbing us” isn’t a favor — it’s the bare minimum. If anything, your staff just ignored us completely, which matched the rest of the poor service.
"We were busy closing, so had little time to interact, which you might take as rude." → That’s a convenient excuse. There’s a big difference between being busy and being cold, unwelcoming, and passive-aggressive. We’ve visited many Cosmic branches before — this was the first time we experienced such...
Read moreWe visited Cosmic Pizza & Donair - Nolan last night, on May 18, 2025, around 11:30 PM. We had come all the way from Edmonton, and as regular customers of Cosmic, we've never had a bad experience before — until now.
When we arrived at the branch, the main door was already locked even though it was exactly 11:30 PM. The male staff member on shift saw us clearly through the glass but ignored us and walked away without responding. I don’t know his name, but he was the only one working at the time. We knocked several times, but he still didn’t come out. Eventually, we found the number online and called the branch. Only when the phone rang did he come out and unlock the door.
His attitude was extremely rude throughout — as if he was being forced to serve us and was completely uninterested in doing his job. It genuinely felt like we were disturbing him just by being there, even though the branch hours clearly state they are open until 12:00 AM.
After we placed our order, the service continued to be disappointing. When we asked for ketchup, he responded rudely and gave only 2-3 small sachets for a medium pizza. There were no hot sauces or any other condiments available either. He was being unnecessarily stingy over basic items.
This was a very bad experience, totally unexpected from a brand like Cosmic. We've always had great experiences at other branches, but this visit to the Nolan location was extremely disappointing and...
Read moreDecided to give Cosmic Pizza and Donair in Nolan Hill a shot at lunch. They're an Edmonton born chain, thus I was looking forward to a more easy coast style type Donair that are more prevalent in Edmonton.
I ordered a large with cheese, tomatoes, lettuce (shut it) and hot sauce. Sweet/Donair sauce of course.
They just opened on the 23rd, so the shop was nice and tidy. It's take out only. Staff were friendly. The large is a decent size. Meat heavy, which a good meat bullet always should be. Sauce was on point, something most Calgary places don't do right.
The meat was ok. Too dry for my liking. I think it was probably cooked too long. Still tasted good, but without the extra sauce it would have been a tough slog to get through. They steamed the pita, which was nice.
They do offer flavored Donair if that's your thing. See their menu for details.
At $18ish for the donair in a combo (coated fries and a can of pop) it was a filling meal, but it didn't scratch the donair itch. I might go back, but with PrimeTime supposedly opening soon, the...
