It's a NO from me. Used to be a huge fan of this franchise in the past and this was my first time trying this location but I'm never coming back - their rose tteokbokki is an absolute joke. The smell instantly put me off as soon as I opened it but the taste was somehow even worse; the "sauce" was just thin liquid with some random spices thrown in that tasted nothing like what it's meant to, it honestly felt like I was drinking some gross tomato water with chilli flakes. I had to throw away the whole dish, it broke my heart but that's how bad it was.
On top of that, the original secret sauced chicken we ordered came with 8 pieces but it's quantity was the only thing it had going for it - a lot of the pieces were mostly batter or skin and they completely DROWNED the chicken in sauce to the point that I didn't even like the taste anymore because of how overwhelming it was. It also made the fried chicken super soggy and overall ruined the experience. Their chak-chak fries were also stale and neither soft nor crispy, with just some powder put on top unevenly, no sauce or nothing. All this plus a bottle of soju and coke for $70. I'm sorry but felt like a complete waste of money, go get your chicken literally...
Read moreDecided to give this place another chance, and got the boneless combo again (soy garlic) and secret fries. All I have to say is I was robbed. I opened up the package and I still cannot believe I spent a solid $16.70 + tax on that sorry excuse of chicken. I bite into the chicken, ok it has crunch. But please tell me why. Why did it taste like it had been soaked in sesame oil for a day, brought out, then soaked again for another day and served. Where was the soy? Where was the garlic? Where was the sweetness? It was all non existent. On top of that too, was the serious lack of seasoning. No salt, nothing. I was drinking nothing but sesame oil. And to add to that why are they being frugal with the dressing. It may have been sesame oil but somehow it wasn't enough. And the chunks of chicken were practically nuggets. How in the world is that anywhere close to the worth of $20. At that point I was only eating for sustenance, never again am I going to willingly scam myself. I don't even know how this place has good reviews. But I will say that the only thing good here are the fries, overpriced but if you want to get something, get only those. go to yum yum bbq or chicko chicken to actually get your...
Read moreJune 2023 Sad to advise that the $5 Happy Hour specials are no longer offered. 😞
Friday, April 14, 2023 Very much enjoyed the Happy Hour (3-5pm, 9pm -12) offerings: $5 for 3 drumsticks ($8 usually), $5 salad and $5 beer. Chicken was cooked to perfection, hot juicy and crispy. The drumsticks were all of significant size. We ordered classic fried, Gangjeong 🌶 and Galbi Q flavors. All were delicious, but I loved the classic fried. So crispy clean! The drumsticks are sliced so that the thick fleshy part is cooked evenly. 👍Also enjoyed the cheeseling fries ($5) and pickled daikon ($2). This space is neat and clean have about 6 tables of 4 to 6 seats. Three large screens displayed K-dancers, the Global Group family of restaurants, their offerings and bbq feature menu items. Service was friendly, but could be more efficient. I highly recommend this place, especially...
