Empire Provisions — Restaurant in Calgary

Will not go back to Empire Provisions. Sat down for a meal on 02/11/20 and from the moment we sat down the waitress was clearly unhappy.... No friendly hello, no friendly demeanor. Once we received our order, we had noticed that is was incorrect but decided we'd simply roll with it and menton it to the waitress upon her return. Problem is, she never came back, never asked us how the meal was, never asked if we wanted another beverage, never checked up on us once. When we asked for the bill we were told to get up and pay at the front (I had been here once before and actually been given the bill at the table) when our waitress asked us how the meal was we said it was "Okay" she then proceeded to act angry at our response and asked "why only okay" so we told her about the aforementioned issues and she proceeded to act sarcastic, rude, and offended. I have been to several restaurants in Calgary, in fact many restaurants globally and I have never seen ANY employee act so rude and disrespectful to customers. If anyone is reading this, go to John Wong's next door, the Dairy Queen next door, any other restaurant but this one. My bill says "Printed by Marisol and also has 33603630: Madison" I am not sure which one of these is the one that served us, but they should not be in the...

Really great local shop! We had a chance to try some of their products, sausages, charcuterie etc. and chat with the owners at a wine tasting a few years ago, and went back a few times after that. Have started getting lunch semi-regularly since they've resumed their deli menu after COVID, and overall have been really impressed. Awesome friendly service too.

The Chicken Pesto wrap is delicious, and the new three-deli-meat sandwich was outstanding. The Cubano was pretty tasty, although the mustard was somewhat overpowering. The only one I probably wouldn't order again is the Banh Mi-style roast beef, decent sandwich but the beef itself tasted just like regular deli roast beef, I think I was expecting a different flavor.

They also have an awesome selection of cheese and house-made sausages and charcuterie which we really need to try.

Just waiting for some of the old sandwiches to come back - the Torta, the Chicken Parm and the Reuben were...

We used Empire Provisions now a few times and have meant to review sooner. The food and service is always amazing. This past party we used for the full meal and everyone had the most kind words about how great everything was. The charcuterie is always a classic, I have ordered several from them. We especially love how they label everything. But shrimp scampi appetizers was shocking delicious. The shrimp were not over cooked and the butter garlic sauce was amazing (we even soaked it up with bread). We had the chicken parm and lasagne for the mains with two salads. Everything offered satisfied everyone. The kale salad was finished completely had a hint of spice (in the panko croutons) and the beet salad and vinaigrette was light and delicious. The chicken parm was also deliciously seasoned and still quite juicy. Thanks so much to the team at Empire for making our evening so flawless...
