Gate of India Fine Dine Cuisine in Calgary has left an indelible mark on my taste buds with its impeccable flavors and impeccable service. I recently had the pleasure of devouring a delightful array of dishes that left me speechless. First and foremost, the Kadhai Chicken stole the show. The succulent chicken pieces were cooked to perfection in a rich and aromatic tomato-based gravy. Every bite was an explosion of flavors, with the spices tantalizing my taste buds. It was a true delight for any chicken lover. The Paneer dish was a vegetarian masterpiece. The cubes of paneer were incredibly soft and soaked up the flavors of the aromatic spices. The creamy and indulgent sauce was the perfect accompaniment, creating a harmony of textures and tastes that left me craving more. To complement the main courses, I couldn’t resist ordering the Butter Garlic Naan. The naan was pillowy soft, generously brushed with butter, and infused with garlic. It was the perfect vehicle for scooping up the flavorful curries. Additionally, the Tandoori Roti had a lovely charred flavor, while the Lacha Parantha boasted layers of flakiness that added a delightful crunch to the meal. The service at Gate of India was exceptional. The staff members were friendly, attentive, and had an in-depth knowledge of the menu. They graciously accommodated our requests and made us feel welcome throughout the dining experience.

We were looking for indian food closer to where we live for Father's Day Dinner. We are still new to calgary and still exploring indian cuisine. We were excited to go to Gate of India as it was closer to our home. Having higher rating with more then 1.5k people reviewing this restaurant, it become our automatic choice for our special day. we had to wait for 5-10, but the wait was worth as food came fast when we ordered. They give us complementary papad's as we were waiting for our food. we ordered Kadhai Chicken and Malai Kofta with two types of naan's (Butter and Garlic). Both of the food items tasted amazing and they were rich with flavors especially Kadhai Chicken. We were little late for dinner otherwise we would have tried their appetizers as well. But given the quality of their food,we are planning to visit them again for appetizers only visit. This is must recommended place for the quality of food and service they provide with big smile. The restaurant was clean and accommodating and food service was fast and efficient.

Delicious food at a location tucked away in a small corner. I tried the lunch buffet to sample an array of their items, and everything I had was delicious. The butter chicken was soft pieces of breast meat coated in this velvety, creamy sauce. The pakora were perfectly crispy, deliciously paired with mint and tamarind chutneys. The naan is fluffy, soft centre with a beautifully browned side. But the star for me was the Goat Curry, it was spicy, rich, just enough chew to it but comes right off the bone. Some of the bones even had marrow in them and that is a treasure in of itself. The staff are very attentive, friendly, and inviting. I found that my water was topped off frequently, they would ask how the meal is, and would explain dishes to other patrons if they weren’t familiar with them. Fantastic experience for a solo dining trip, I well be sure to come back with some friends next time!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An Authentic Culinary Journey – Gate of India Exceeded Expectations!

From the moment I stepped into Gate of India, I knew I was in for something special. The warm aroma of spices, the inviting decor reminiscent of authentic Indian restaurant, and the soft instrumental music in the background instantly set the tone for a truly memorable dining experience.

We were greeted with genuine warmth by the staff, who were not only attentive and friendly but also knowledgeable about the menu. The service was impeccable—never intrusive, yet always present when needed.

Now, let’s talk about the food—which was nothing short of exceptional. Every dish we ordered was bursting with authentic flavors. The hariyali chicken was silky smooth with a perfect balance of creaminess and spice. The hakka noodles was fall-apart tender and deeply flavorful, clearly slow-cooked to perfection. The goat biryani came steaming hot with a delightful fragrance and a hint of saffron, served with cooling raita on the side.

The tandori rotis were soft and fluffy with just the right crisp on the edges.

What really impressed me was the consistency in quality across the board. Whether you’re a seasoned lover of Indian cuisine or trying it for the first time, Gate of India offers something special for everyone in Calgary. Vegetarian or non-vegetarian, mild or spicy—they tailor dishes to your preference without compromising authenticity.

Prices were reasonable considering the portion sizes and quality. It's a great place for both casual meals and special occasions.

In short: Gate of India is a hidden gem that delivers an immersive Indian dining experience right here in town. I'll definitely be returning, and I recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone craving flavorful, soulful food served with...

If you have time to waste, order from here. This was our first visit, and definitely the last. We waited over an hour for our food, it said 30-45 minute wait time on the website. We PURPOSELY WAITED 45 minutes before going to the restaurant so they would have more than enough time to prepare the food, but when we got there, we had to wait another 20 minutes. They refunded me a grand total of $8, so in their defense, they did acknowledge their mistake. However, I don't necessarily think a 10% discount is that great as most restaurants offer that as a pickup discount anyways. Using that logic, I could've went to any restaurant for pick up and still get a better deal while not wasting my time. I had 3 people ask me what my order was, I guess an hour wasn't enough time for them to figure it out. There was one staff member that seemed to do most of the work, he was a shorter gentleman wearing a dress shirt and dress pants. The rest of the front of house staff is basically useless, all they did was refill drinks and stand at the back. They didn't even pretend to be busy. I would also like to mention that customers who ordered AFTER us still got their order before us. If you like the feeling of hunger pains or want to antagonize your hangry family/ friends, I strongly...
