Meltwich Food Co — Restaurant in Calgary

My Daughter and I went for dinner there before our show at the Jube and let's just say, it was a good thing we went early and gave ourselves plenty of time. First red flag was walking in and finding four groups sitting and none had their food. Second red flag was only 2 staff working. 3rd red flag was the confusion I could see on their faces in the kitchen. The final red flag is it took 25 minutes to get our order, and they had cooked the fries just after we placed our order, and never cooked any fresh ones within our 25 minute wait. I was going to cancel our order twice but wanted to give the food a try. We ordered the Hot Mess and Chicken Ranch poutine, and while we got a good serving amount, and flavours were fantastic, they were by no means hot, and mine had 2 pieces of the beef in it. For $14, I expected at least a few more pieces.

I was super excited to try this place, but the service and long wait times that have long been complained about have not been fixed, and it made a less than pleasant experience. 2 people working on a Friday night, and trying to take STD & DD orders and making your in store customers have to wait is unacceptable. Nobody was happy with the wait times, people came in and left because nobody was able to help them. This location will not be open long if the company does not step in and correct the staffing problems, you can't keep ignoring the complaints about wait times and expect to be successful. Not with a Dominos, A&W, Burger King, Wendy's and Subway all within 2 parking lots. I really want to try this place again, but if it is going to take this long, I will walk out before ordering. And please make your fries fresh for your poutine orders instead of serving cold slightly...

For the price I expected more than just fast food.

I do not mind paying for a good quality product or something a little niche. Thought I would give this place a shot since it looked liked it would be worth it and its in my hood. I had a Philly and a poutine. I suppose I should have known a philly cheese steak on a sandwich bun. But I hoped for maybe a mound of meat and a sloppy sandwich.

The philly tasted like Arbys. Where as it might be high quality meat. It seemed to be dry over done? Seemed maybe cooked and heated up on a grill later? It was nothing to write home about. Flat sandwich barely any sauce.

The poutine was good. Respect the curd thats for sure. But for what I paid I was left with a bad taste in my mouth over all.

Service was slow almost like no one knew what was going on. Took about 5mins for them to acknowledged that I was there and the lady looked confused and disoriented half in the back half in the front like she was going to help me.... Eventually I tried to order the whole thing took way to long. I dont mind waiting for the food but there was maybe 1 guy in the place the whole time I was there so I couldn't understand why it would take so long to order. I usually just walk out.

Same experience as some others. The service is ridiculous. One lady stood in the back cleaning for almost 5 mins after looking me in the face at the counter multiple times. Then she comes out and whispers so quietly "would you like something"? Really? What else do you think I'm doing here? She then whispered and struggled to place my order for ONE. One sandwich and a side. She eventually walked away without getting it done. Sent another whispering girl who asked me again if I wanted a Philly? Both acted like what I was ordering they had never heard of it. I was getting so frustrated. Then the food took so long the place had two other customers who were already eating and no one else. I don't understand how ppl work here who can't handle the basic business. The Mac and cheese is gross. No flavor at all swimming in a thin cheese soup. The Philly is boring. Not much flavor either I'd maybe try a different sandwich but doordash next time cuz I can't deal...
