Noodlebox — Restaurant in Calgary

Fraudulent business practices.

That's just a single way to phrase their establishment. Horrendous delivery experience that demonstrates greed, lack of customer service, and lies.

I placed a $45 order online through Uber, and immediately(within 5 seconds) I had to cancel due to a family member request. I submitted the cancellation successfully and was notified my order was canceled.

I went on with my dinner plans to get something more affordable and noticed 45 minutes after my order was canceled that I was charged the $45 as the order was already being prepared at the time of canceling. I contacted Noodlebox and a woman answered. I asked why my cancelation was accepted, why I was charged the $45 and why I didn't have the option to receive my food.

She proceeded to explain to me that she noticed the cancel request at the time of the uber driver showing up(not my fault and a blatant lie as the order was canceled and no driver assigned on my app). She then got defensive about my questioning as to why I was charged, and not notified that my food was made.

I live minutes away, so I told her "well since my food was made I will just drive by so we have dinner, especially since I paid for it". At this point it's 5:30pm with my wife and 5 year old hungry and I'm in the driveway. I read people emotionally at a professional level, and to hear her stumbling over her words for about 5 seconds to feed me this line of BS "we gave one of your meals to the uber driver that showed up(lied again as no driver would be assigned to an accepted cancelation withing the Uber app), and disposed of the other order". Not spoken with fluency at all, just a jumbled mess of words.

Who are you to distribute the food I paid for(unwillingly) and within 1hr of my order being placed, and canceled, only to leave me without food! That's if the meal was actually even prepared, which I have doubts given that BS line she fed me. I requested my meal to be remade so I had food and she told me to contact Uber for a refund and hung up on me.

Horrible.

Of the thousands of dollars worth for meals I purchase every year, this establishment will not receive a penny beyond what they stole from me tonight. This complaint with also be filed with Noodlebox head office.

Update Uber concluded that the merchant/vendor should have communicated this with me through the in-app messaging. Therefore, they will not be refunding...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Noodlebox, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The moment I walked in, I was greeted by a friendly and welcoming staff who made me feel right at home. The atmosphere was vibrant and cozy, perfect for a casual meal.

After having followed the construction work, I figured I'd give Noodlebox a try and I was not disappointed. Very nice, classy interior, very clean, the first impression was excellent. I was immediately greeted by a friendly young lady and she answered all questions I had very promptly. I went for the spicy peanut noodle box and after all was said and done, I had thought it was a little pricy, but figured that it was a treat.

The food preparation was quick and when I got my order, it was heavy! Turns out that one order easily holds two full meals, so the price suddenly was a lot more reasonably, also in the light of the food being freshly made. The noodle box itself was absolutely delicious and one word to the wise, when they say that they can make this spicy, they are not kidding! Unlike many other places that advertise their food being hot, here it really means hot, so choose wisely!

All in all I was very positively surprised and have gone back to explore more of their menu, even though I always gravitate back to the spicy peanut box because the creamy sauce just helps hold it all together and is a very well rounded flavour overall.
