La Diperie Country Hills — Restaurant in Calgary

After seeing the hype on IG and snap chat, I was excited to try this place out but was very disappointed in the service and quality of the ice cream. There was maybe 10 people ahead of us in line and we ended up waiting in line for 45 minutes. This was probably the longest time I've ever had to wait for ice cream considering there wasn't that many people ahead of us. The employees were very slow and unorganized causing confusion which affected the efficiency of serving customers. One of the soft serve machines appeared to be not working properly but no customers were notified of the malfunction and the line was at a stand still for a good 10 minutes because of it. This caused frustration for all of us as we were unsure as to what was going on and why the line was at a stand still. After finally getting our "La diperie" signature soft serve, the cup and the spoon were covered in caramel. I would've taken a photo but the presentation was absolutely horrendous with the soft serve being slanted and the sauces were all over the place. This soft serve was not made with love. Overall this was the worst ice cream experience I've ever had. I definitely do not recommend and will never come here for ice cream again. La diperie needs better service, quality,...

BEST ice cream experience I’ve had in quite some time! Firstly, I was pleased that they were open later even on a Sunday (until 10) This was my first time having this “style” of ice cream, with the soft serve and dip with toppings. The first thing I noticed when arriving was how bright, bubbly and positive the atmosphere inside was. Then, I was amazed at just how many options there were! Though the ice cream is regular good old soft serve, I couldn’t believe how many flavours of dips there were to choose from! The staff were welcoming and friendly, and patient with me as I tried several dip tasters (lol) before finally deciding on the “Birthday dip” flavour topped with lucky charms. It was to DIE for! The only thing I will say is that they had plenty of seating inside the store, but my friends and I wanted to eat our ice cream outside and were hoping to sit down at some outdoor seating but there was none, so I would just suggest even just a few tables and chairs right outside for people who want to enjoy this delicious ice cream outside! :) but overall amazing experience!! It’s super close from where I live, so my bf and I instantly decided that it’ll be our local sweet summer treat spot! Cannot WAIT...

Avoid at all costs. Cleanliness seemed to be a huge issue that maybe should be looked into. Service was incredibly slow, which I believe was due to the fact that they were understaffed. The poor staff working seemed to be working very hard and as fast as they could, but no matter how hard they worked there were just too many customers for two staff members to serve efficiently. The taste was actually decent, but 100% not worth the price. There are numerous different ice cream/dessert shops in the city I would go to that taste much much better for the price. The worst part of all was the way I saw the staff getting treated by management. One manager was almost yelling at the poor girl by the cash register, micromanaging, and quite frankly looked to me like harassment. If it weren't for this, maybe I could see myself giving this shop another try on a day that wasn't so busy. However, this incident gave me a terrible taste in my mouth and I will never ever be returning back to this location based off the fact that they seem to harass their employees that seem to be doing their best. Please do not waste your time and money...
