Awful customer service - delivery order gone wrong because of the front end staff. Food was decent though.

We’ve ordered from them before and we’ve never had issues. We called in at around 5 pm (NYE) and we were told it would be about 1.5 hours, which we had no problem with. We knew it would be busy and understood it would be a longer wait time given that it was NYE.

We called back about 1.5 hours later to check on our order since it wasn’t delivered yet. The young man on the phone was very rude and had no intentions of figuring out where our order was. He seemed like he did not care whatsoever. He couldn’t give us an ETA after waiting the 1.5 hours so we decided to cancel the order. I’ve never spoken to someone so incompetent and dismissive.

30 minutes later, as we were already out grabbing a back-up dinner, the delivery driver showed up at our door. We were very confused and felt bad for the driver. Obviously the young man who answered the phone at the restaurant neglected to communicate to the kitchen and the delivery driver that we cancelled the order. We paid for the food as, again, we felt bad for the driver and the restaurant kitchen staff. Unfortunately the young man at who answered the phone left us feeling quite upset and wary of ordering again.

We called to speak to the manager or someone who could take our complaint seriously. The young man said they were busy and said that it was our fault that we didn’t answer the phone (came up as a private number) when he tried to call us to say our order was on the way - after we had cancelled it. Again, zero customer service skills and extremely incompetent of taking orders, cancelling them properly, communicating to customers, delivery drivers, and the kitchen staff.

Sorry to say that if they just let that young man go, we’d be happy...

I came to Calgary for a vacation with a friend and this was the very first place we ate at. I didn't have high hopes about it. If I’m being completely honest, it’s definitely not an updated restaurant. That’s not to say it was dirty or ugly per-say. I thought some parts of the restaurant were quite beautiful and homey. The longer I sat inside and spoke to the staff, I think they were the owners, the more it really grew on me. My grandmother owned and ran a very old restaurant when I was younger. I started to have very fond memories of days when I would visit her and help out in the kitchen. The restaurant was her whole life and when I visited it felt like home, as I’m sure it did for her, and probably does for these owners. Even if you can’t relate to that, being able to relate to sitting in somewhere that makes you feel comfortable. I’m sure to others it seems like it’s a bit run down, but to me, it felt like I had been invited over to a distant friends house for a meal. The cook was very sweet, she was much older, definitely a parent. But she was so kind and attentive as soon as we entered. The waiter, who was younger, her son maybe? was also very kind and respectful. He always had a smile on his face. The food was very very delicious. My friend has gotten the lemon chicken, probably the best I ever had, the sauce was light and the chicken was crispy. The chowmein was delightful, thinner noodles, which I prefer and very flavourful. I hope that people can see this as more of a homey restaurant to relax in and not as some...

I live in the Lynwood area. This is a MUST DINE at restaurant in our neighborhood (across from Glenmore Inn) Today I had take-out through Skip the Dishes (pls, with the price of gas and rent going up -- keep cash on hand to TIP your delivery person

Ken and his Wife Wen consistently provide THE BEST Chinese food in the City of Calgary !!

All items that are deep fried taste more like a Tempura. Sweet and Sour is made with subtle sweetness and a mild sour. Their mixed rice is another favorite.

Whether you order a Beef, Seafoid, or Chicken dish you will be pleasantly surprised !!

Very Generous portions. The dinner for 2 was more like a dinner for 5
