Om Cuisine of India — Restaurant in Calgary

My father and I went to this location for supper, having been recommended it by someone at my Dad's group exercise class. My expectations were moderately high given the positive reviews, and I am pleased to say Om met or exceeded all of my expectations!

My Dad ordered the Tikka Masala chicken and I had the Butter Chicken entree. We paid these with Chai Masala hot beverage, coconut rice, and garlic naan bread.

All of the food was exceptionally well prepared, with a complex and savory blend of spices and cream. The chicken was unbelievably tender and the butter chicken sauce delicious and plentiful. The coconut rice is the best I have ever had with pieces of real dried coconut too. The garlic naan bread was very light on garlic, so if you like garlic (as me and my Dad do), just ask. My Chai masala was the best I have ever had, and tasted to me as if it had been made from scratch with whole ingredients as opposed to the typical "dust and fannings" finely processed dried tea most places use and that I indeed know well as it is what I usually make at home.

The service and atmosphere from the time we walked in to the restaurant until we left was friendly and welcoming. I would feel comfortable eating here by myself or with a group of any size. Finally, the bathroom was clean and had both hand soap and paper towels available along with a garbage can that was not overflowing. I would highly recommend eating here for supper on Sunday as the food and service were exceptional and there was ample seating available for dine-in customers. Overall a strong recommendation...

First time getting take-out from Om, frequented Indique several times before over the course of 3 years (enjoyed their curries, pretty consistent). Curries were heavy on the oil this time, and flavour was not to my taste (kadai paneer, chicken vindaloo, channa masala). This could be personal preference, so no points lost here. My wife and I were craving for Indian food so we went to the interwebs to search for Indian restaurants nearby. We found Om so very close to our house and did a little research. The reviews were positive so we decided to try. I'm so glad we did! The atmosphere was great, the people are awesome and the food was amazing. We had the Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb shank, Coconut rice and the Cheese Naan. The smell and taste of the food was so GOOD. We're so happy it's so close to home that we can just walk over whenever we crave for Indian food. It's a place we can recommend to family...
