My friend and I went to OJ’s Sundance for dinner. Our server Breanne took 15 minutes to come to our table and greet us. We ordered our beverages and weren’t ready to order food. We asked for straws with our drink. She took another 10 minute to come take our food order and proceeded not to give us the straws. As she was dropping off our side plates I asked for straws again, and she cut me off and said they are coming. Then we proceeded to wait for the straws and I took it upon myself to go get both of us straws from the bar, as we ordered our drinks 30 mins ago. My friend ordered a beef dip, soup, and side of parm fries. When the food arrived she did not provide the dip for her sandwich and the spoon for her side soup. She was also waiting for a Caesar that she ordered 10 mins ago prior to the foods arrival. We had to request a food runner to retrieve the necessities for her meal. Over all my meal was okay but I did order a broccolini and it was just hard broccoli, so I avoided eating it. My friend also said her meat on her beef dip was pure fat and that was visible. The sever didn’t come over once to ask how our food was and when she stopped at our table we mentioned the issues with the food, we asked for our bills. My friend asked to take the sandwich off her bill or to substitute the meal as she was not satisfied by her sandwich, and I asked to take the broccolini off mine as it was not cooked. She mentioned she would speak to a manager about it as she might be able to give us a discount. When she returned with the bills she only took off my broccolini and took off my friend’s two sides and made her pay for the sandwhich she did not eat. Then she mentioned to us that we should’ve said something to her before eating our food when she was nowhere in sight. Given this experience both my friend and I chose not to tip the server as the service was very unprofessional. When the server saw that we did not tip she was visibly aggravated and stormed off without greeting us goodbye. I saw and heard her go over to the manager who discounted our bill and she announced we did not tip her. I have never in my life experienced service this bad with a restaurant being so slow. After the fact we reviewed our bills and she added on a drink neither of us ordered on my friend’s bill. I would not recommend going to this restaurant’s Sundance location at all if you want to enjoy the...
Read moreCompletely awful experience, start to finish. Ordered a double dog and a Mediterranean wrap through skip the dishes. An hour and 32 minutes later (we live 12 minutes away) our order showed up. The food was all cold and soggy, and the double dog was not there. Instead I was sent a plain hamburger.
We called the restaurant and the waitress answered the phone, found our order receipt and read it back to us correctly, and we explained the problem. She said she didn’t know what to do, so she was going to go and get a manager. She returned to the phone without any explanation of why she didn’t get the manager on the phone. She proceeded to back track and try to say that the double dog wasn’t on the order, even though she had just read it to us, herself, without us ever mentioning what we had ordered. We called her out for the blatant lie and finally she went to get a manager. The manager then tried to lie and say that the issues with the order were not her’s/the restaurant’s problem and to deal with it through Skip The Dishes. We again called her out, then she began to cooperate. She had a conversation and told us that she would have Skip The Dishes refund the whole order. I received a call a few minutes later from Skip The Dishes confirming the refund for the cost of the double dog. I explained that the manager had said I would be fully refunded, and the Skip The Dishes representative told me that the manager called him directly and said to refund me only for the amount of the Double Dog. I told Skip The Dishes I would handle this myself. Skip The Dishes partially compensated my order.
My girlfriend and I have both worked in the customer service industry for a very long time and both come from parents who owned restaurants and other companies. Any f-up this bad should be fully owned by the restaurant and compensated for in any way possible. Ownership pays far too much money to represent the Original Joes logo to have people like this running their restaurant. Super disappointed that this location I once went to often and held all of my coaches meetings at, will now never be visited...
Read moreThe night started like any other Tuesday at Original Joe's. My family and I were enjoying the fish and chips – perfectly flaky fish and crispy fries – when the lights flickered. Outside, a low hum replaced the usual city sounds. That's when the door burst open. Standing there wasn't your typical late-night diner, but a towering figure in a velvet cape, flanked by two gleaming chrome robots with glowing red eyes. "I," the caped man hissed, his fangs glinting, "am Count Von Bitemark, and my robotic associates and I require... sustenance!" Panic! Patrons dove under tables. But not our server, Breanne. With the calm confidence of a seasoned warrior, she placed our drinks on the table. "I'm sorry, sir," she said, holding her ordering tablet like a shield, "but we're at capacity. And your associates don't meet the dress code." One of the robots raised a laser-blaster arm. "Insolent human! Your resistance is illogical." Without flinching, Breanne grabbed a bottle of hot sauce. "Is it?" she countered, flinging it with pinpoint accuracy. The sauce splattered across the vampire's pristine cravat. He shrieked as if hit by holy water. While the Count was distracted, Breanne vaulted over the bar, armed herself with two steak knives, and disabled both robots with a flurry of precise strikes to their exposed wiring. The vampire, seeing his mechanical minions spark and fall, hissed and vanished into a cloud of smoke. Breanne simply straightened her apron. "Now," she said, turning back to us with a brilliant smile, "Can I get you another round? My apologies for the interruption." The service at Original Joe's has always been great, but Breanne takes it to a legendary level. She's not just a server; she's a protector of the realm, a vanquisher of the undead, and the reason our fish and chips never got cold during a full-scale robot-vampire invasion. The food is fantastic, but the service is...
