Our House — Restaurant in Calgary

From the moment we walked in, we felt truly welcomed—not just by the staff, but by the cozy, inviting atmosphere of the space. There's so much charm to take in! When the server asked if we had been there before, my dad mentioned it was our first visit and that my fiancé and I had just bought a house nearby. They went above and beyond to make us feel like part of the neighborhood right away.

For our meal, my dad ordered the wild mushroom tagliatelle, and I had the grilled cheese and tomato bisque—both were absolutely fantastic. The flavors were rich, the portions generous, and everything felt thoughtfully prepared. What’s more, the prices were very reasonable for the quality, which was a nice surprise!

At the end of the meal, the server surprised us with a lovely gesture: a complimentary dessert of our choice as a welcome to the neighborhood. We picked the pineapple cheesecake, and let me tell you, my dad practically scraped the jar clean—it was that good!

You will not regret coming here! I have lived in this area for over 20 years; Our House is a major turnaround and upgrade from any other bar or restaurant that has occupied this space! Our experience here well surpassed my expectations.

We had the calamari, sliders, tuna, and truffle fries off the appetizer menu and the half chicken off the mains. The tuna and half chicken were so tender and flavourful, I’m always worried about chicken breast being dry but this was cooked to perfection. So moist! Cocktails were also fantastic and very reasonably priced. You can tell they take pride in present a modern cocktail list that is still easy to navigate. Wine and draft list were also decent sized.

What really blew me away was the ambience and decor! It is warm, and cozy, and new! I would come here to celebrate a special occasion or to have a casual dinner with my partner midweek. It is fashionable but not overwhelmingly so, think of your cool friend’s place who likes vintage and collects art but still prefers a miller over craft beer. "We recently visited your restaurant with a group of six on Thursday, but unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. The service was slow, and I had to get up multiple times to request basic condiments like salt and pepper. My tea was served too cold, and when I asked for a replacement, it seemed like the server just added hot water instead of a fresh tea bag, resulting in a cup of hot water. My sister's coffee was also mishandled, with the server incorrectly charging her for an Americano instead of a regular coffee.

Our desserts were also a letdown. The apple pie ice cream was runny, and the server attributed it to the cooler not being properly cold. The cheesecake was particularly disappointing - it was one of the worst I've ever had. Although we were told the desserts would be complimentary, we ended up being charged for them.
