We went here around 930am for breakfast on a Wednesday for breakfast and were able to walk in, get a table, without a wait. I could imagine this place being busy at different times though and there it is a small diner, could potentially mean a wait. We were lucky to get a table, with ease... probably because it was a weekday. I got the buckwheat blueberry pancakes - they were delicious! The size of them was good enough for more than one person, I split them with my sister and still wasn't able to finish. Also, got a side of sausage, which was yummy. They give you butter and a pot of syrup, enough for the pancakes. The pancakes were a bit more on the granier side, probably because they were made with buckwheat, but I really liked them. My sister got the breakfast sandwich on marble bread, with potatoes. We both split that as well. I thought the potato's were a bit on the soft side, I like them a bit crispier. They were well seasoned, nonetheless. The sandwich was good, a bit on the small side but again, I'm not a big portion eater, we didn't mind. The dinner was clean, and had a nice atmosphere. Staff were great, they really made us feel welcomed, especially since we had a baby and a stroller to bring in, gave us a spot near the back, so we could keep our stroller out. There is a bit of a step to get up, which can be an issue with accessibility. That would be my only concern (I'm from Ontario - accessible buildings is something we are big on). There should be an accessibility door or a ramp, but I found alot of places in downtown Calgary doesn't have this. Overall, good stop for breakfast! They do also have a lunch menu, which I would check out. I think they close for 4pm, so no dinner there.

Red's Diner on 4th Avenue in Calgary is a breakfast gem that stands out for its exceptional service, vibrant atmosphere, and delicious offerings. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly by the staff, who were attentive and friendly throughout my visit. The atmosphere at Red's Diner is inviting and cool, with a cozy yet modern vibe that makes you feel right at home. The decor is charming, and the layout is spacious, allowing for a comfortable dining experience whether you're alone, with a partner, or in a group. I opted for the Rancheros Bowl, and it was an absolute delight. The portion was massive, ensuring that you leave fully satisfied. The flavors were incredibly well-balanced, with the perfect combination of spices and fresh ingredients. The presentation was also top-notch, making the dish as pleasing to the eye as it was to the palate. The service at Red's Diner is consistently excellent. The staff is quick to take orders, and the food arrives promptly despite the bustling crowd. They are knowledgeable about the menu and ready to offer recommendations if you're unsure of what to try. In addition to the fantastic food and service, the overall ambiance of Red's Diner enhances the dining experience. It's a place where you can relax, enjoy a hearty meal, and soak in the lively atmosphere. Whether you're a local or just visiting Calgary, Red's Diner on 4th is a must-visit spot for a memorable breakfast or brunch. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy a delicious meal in a friendly and vibrant setting!

Such a great experience at this location. We usually have gone to the Ramsay location but the wait time was a bit long for us so we popped into this location on 4th. I had the Benny with bacon, arugula and balsamic glaze. Sooo good! My hubby had the chorizo hash and he quite enjoyed it. I also ordered the ham/ corn chowder and I was in my happy place. The flavour of the soup base was creamy yet not salty and brought a comfort that I can’t explain. It was an experience as awaited my breakfast. Our server was Hayley and she was over the top amazing! We will definitely be back🤤 Sorry I gobbled everything up before taking pictures🤷🏽‍♀️ Okay we went back for lunch and the burgers we ordered were made to perfection! We asked for the burgers to be cooked but not overdone done staying within the health guidelines and the kitchen did and amazing job. Juicy and delicious! With my bacon jam and Brie burger I had a bowl of beef barley soup. My hubby had mushroom Swiss burger with salad and citrus vinegarette on the side. Our bellies were singing with joy after this meal! shout out to Emily front end manager and our server for this visit. Great conversationalist!
